Customer Review: GREAT BAR! HEAVY DUTY, EASY TO USE, AS ADVERTISED! P90X COMPATIBLE!

I purchased this chin up bar directly from Maximum Fitness Gear and was surprised to receive the bar in just a couple of days. I am currently using it for my P90X workouts and it works really well.
Here are my observations:
1) EASY ASSEMBLY: Package comes with an illustration guide for assembly. Parts are listed and illustrated for easy identification. Installation instructions were very easy to follow. Bar comes with a complete kit with tools.
2) HEAVY DUTY CONSTRUCTION: Once assembled, the chin up bar is very sturdy and appears to be heavy duty. TIP - I found that it is best to connect all the bars first WITHOUT tightening the screws completely. This way, you can align all the bars and then tighten them altogether so that the bars are properly aligned and straight.
3) FITS WIDE DOORWAYS: My doorway is about 36" wide so this bar works perfectly because the length of the long bar is 41". There is about 2 1/2" inches clearance on each side. I initially bought the IRON GYM but this bar is too small for my doorway. It only fits doorways up to 32" wide because the long bar is only 36" long.
4) MULTIFUNCTION NARROW-WIDE GRIPS: This chin up bar has a variety of grips that you can use for pull ups and chin ups. It more than meets all the P90X back exercise requirements. I even use the NEUTRAL grips (narrow and wide) for extra pull ups that work my shoulders, arms and back! You can also use it for push ups and dips but I didn't have a need for it.
5) SAFETY: The chin up bar comes with optional "J" hooks that you can mount on the top of the doorframe. I didn't find it necessary to use because the chin up bar will not fall when you hang it on top of the doorframe. When you do pull ups, your weight will clamp down on the bars against the wall on both sides so the bar is secured (just as shown in the commercial video). But, the hooks are available if you want to use it.
6) DOORFRAME PROTECTION: If you are concerned about your door trim (or depending on quality of your door trim), you may want to use a towel to pad the side so that it doesn't leave a mark. My doorframe is solid so there is no damage to my trims but I use a pair of small towels to pad the sides to prevent wear and tear.
Overall, the Maximum Fitness Gear does the job for me. I feel like I am maximizing my P90X workouts with this chin up bar due to the wide grips. I highly recommend this product for those who are starting the P90X program. Great Price and it's absolutely designed for P90X workouts. IMO, P90X is the most legitimate workout program out there...NO GIMMICKS!
