We bought the Marinco 121A Marine Electrical Shore Power Pigtail adapter because our boat needs 30 amps and so many marinas supply 50 amp. This adapter allows us to transform the 50 amps to 30 amps. We have more than made up the cost of the product in convenience and not renting one from the marina. It feels sturdy and so far has worked perfectly. I would recommend it.
Description of Marinco marine electrical shore power pigtail adapter
A stout pigtail adaptor that will attach a 30A 125V cordset or boat inlet to a 50A 125/250V dockside receptacle or cordset. The female Connector is a 30A 125V plug with a locking sealing collar system and the male end consists of a 50A 125/250V locking plug.The Marinco 121A pigtail adapter offers a 50-amp, 125/250-volt locking male plug on one side and a 30-amp, 125-volt locking female connector on the other. Marinco pigtail adapters are equipped with covers and sealing collars (where indicated) and are designed for use in wet locations. Marino's unique sealing collar system with cover joins the adapter to the cordset with a positive, mechanical connection. The adapter carries a five-year warranty.
