Sports reviews of Marcy PL-43211 Upright Mag CycleCustomer Review: Practical and fun Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
I got this bike as a simple, realistic way to get some exercise. I like to save mornings for other activities and get home too late at night to go out safely. This bike is set up in my living room, but would be easy to move if guests came over. It is easy to set up but I was missing several pieces of hardware. The customer service person at the phone number was very nice, didn't question me at all, and promised to send the hardware right out. However, I went down to my local Lowe's and bought what I needed for about $2. Of course, being me, I had to put the parts in a baggie and bring them down and match the pictures on the drawers. This was almost as fun as doing bodywork on my car this summer.
I am totally flumoxed by anything mechanical, but not afraid to try. It took me about 4 hours to put this together but would probably take a normal person about 30 minutes. Part of the problem was that I pulled the tension wires out of the main post and was concerned about taking the tension adjustment out. However, it became apparent that those wires were not going to go back in, so I finally took the tension adjustment out, fed the wires back through, and put the tension adjustment knob back it, easily. It was no problem so don't worry if you make this mistake (which you shouldn't if you read AND FOLLOW the instructions.)
I actually use this thing. It is also handy as a balance for squats and it might be good to tuck toes under for situps also. The computer on the top measures estimated calories, time, distance, and speed. What else would one want?
The seat is somewhat uncomfortable and I did buy the gel seat. I think the problem might be the shape of the seat, but it is not a big deal.
The bike is sturdy but you might notice more shaking than in a bike from the high-priced gym. The handle-bars adjust easily to different positions. The tension adjustments also work well and seem to have a wide range.
Overall, I'm very happy with this and would definitely buy it again.

Exercise bikes don't take up much space, require little or no balance or coordination, and can provide an effective workout for all levels of users, from beginners to serious competitors.
