Sports reviews of Mainstay Emergency Drinking Water (60 Pack)

Customer Review: Convenient, easy and flexible
Sport shop rating: 5 Stars

The thing about being prepared for an emergency of any type is to be flexible. You don't know if you will have to evacuate, or lay low for a while. This emergency drinking water is great because it gives you flexibility. Need to get away for just a few days? You can grab a few of them and add them to a bug out bag or throw the whole box in the trunk of your car.
The packaging is durable and can take a lot of abuse like in the bottom of a back pack.

Customer Review: Great way to store rations
Sport shop rating: 5 Stars

It's emergency water in durable foil bags. If that is how you wish to pack away some survival supplies, it's perfect. (Great for car, cabin, backpack) 5 Year shelf life, expiration dates stamped on the bags. Helpful instructions on how to ration water printed on each bag.

Customer Review: A good idea, well executed
Sport shop rating: 4 Stars

I used these for a camping trip a few months ago. I liked them quite a bit as I able to accurately measure the water for cooking, and measure how much water I was drinking throughout the day, and they were very convenient for packing in my backpack. My only complaint was that I was able to taste the plastic a bit in the water, so -1 star.

Customer Review: In an emergency you probably won't mind the ditch water taste.
Sport shop rating: 3 Stars

I ordered these for an emergency supply kit. They arrived from Amazon.com well packaged. Manufacture date was 11-10, which is relatively new, 4 months into the 5 yr shelf life. I believe they will be a good addition to the kit. The size is small per package and it will probably take more than the 2 pkgs per person per day, but they will be welcome if needed. I warn you though, I did open one to sample the water...like I said, if it is a true emergency, you probably won't mind that it tastes like filtered ditch water, then again if things are that bad, we may be drinking ditch water and if you are used to water in a metropolitan area, you might be right at home with these. I on the other hand prefer tastless water, or spring water....but I will drink this if thats all there is. Perhaps I can trade them for other supplies I forgot to include in my emergency bag when the big disaster hits and those without water want to barter. The packages easily open with your teeth, the top of the bag has serrations to tear them open, using your teeth make it much easier. They also seem to be pretty tough bags. I squeezed one relatively hard to see if it could take being squished a little and it seemed unfazed by the pressure, so overall I think they will survive most trips or storage kits being dragged around. Price was about .50 each with shipping. Found them cheaper online after I had ordered, about .45 each, but thats typical...find it cheaper after you order. Overall decent buy.
