I bought these by accident (I actually wanted the Ascents), but they are good MSR snowshoes. It's my own fault for hurrying and getting these, but for flats and medium grade snowshoeing, they are great. Good for running as well.
I have 1 pair of ascents and they are still in good condition, but I wanted a spare for friends and 'just in case'. I'm going to add the heel-risers myself and then they'll be what I intended to buy.

Steel traction blades, crampons, and molded braking bars in the deck provide exceptional grip for go-anywhere reliability, and a strong performance in icy conditions. Backed by a lifetime warranty on materials and workmanship, the Denali Classic Snowshoe platform material consists of snow-shedding co-polymer, made of tough polyethylene and polypropylene. The crampons are made of hardened steel that will outlast aluminum five times to one. The Traction Bars are made of the same hardened steel. The steel is powder coated to prevent snow from sticking and adding weight to the shoe.
