I had a few concerns when I ordered this set of rails because of the limited details available on this item. From my experience, I hope your own questions will be addressed:
Q: What is the material--plastic or metal?
A: It's some sort of metal. Because it's made in China, I can't tell you whether it's aluminum or pot metal.
Q: Will it align with the holes in the standard 12" hand guards on my Bushmaster?
A: Yes, thankfully. It comes with no directions but it installs easily enough.
Q: Are the rails flat, or tapered to accommodate the slope of the standard hand guards?
A: I'm surprised this detail wasn't advertised, but it does turn out to be tapered. That's good, because this way you can attach your laser or whatever without it being affected by slant of the guards. If you want to put these on a straight aftermarket guard, I'd recommend finding another product.
Q: What is and isn't in the package?
A: 2 rails. You get about 3 pairs of short screws and nuts and 3 or 4 pairs of slightly longer screws and nuts. An allen wrench is included. There are no directions nor any labels from the manufacturer. Clear plastic packaging and a little "made in China" sticker.
