Sports reviews of Leapers 1 x 40 Red Green Dot ScopeCustomer Review: Good for paintball, bb gun, or .22. Not for hunting Sport shop rating: 4 StarsI got this for my paintball gun. It is made of metal, is built pretty well, and overall feels very solid. Sure the flip up lens covers could be more durable, and the dot more crisp, but that's OK. Choice of color and brightness is very nice. My main complaint is this. The dot moves with relation to the position of your eyeballs. So for example you fix the gun in place, with the dot on target. As you move your head around, the dot will move around off target, even if the gun has not moved. This means you must be very consistent with how you look through the sight for it to remain accurate. Even then, it will always be somewhat off because you can never look through it EXACTLY the same every time.
For paintball, this is plenty accurate. plinking at short ranges, ok. But if you need serious accuracy or consistency (real hunting vs. varmint shooting)... keep moving. If you need a good low cost site for a pellet gun, BB gun, paintball gun, or .22... You will probably be pleased.
Customer Review: good Sport shop rating: 4 Starsi like this sight however it is difficult to find the right rail to mount it on my Tippmann 98 custom. make sure you know what your doing before you buy this scope
Customer Review: hmmm........ Sport shop rating: 5 StarsWell when i recieved it i didn't realize that it was not able to fit a dovetalil rail mount. So i had to order the lapco offset sight rail (which is supposed to fit a dove tail rail mount.) Then whn that arrived it i found that my phantom loader tube was to fat and got in the way of locking it in place. So i went out and got some aquarium silicone and glued it on. well now it is working just fine. the maker looks really mean now to. So far the sight has been dead on once i got it sighted in. By the way incase you were wondering i have been plaing for 11 years now and i own a phantom stock class, a brass egale sting ray which dosen't work now(it's about 10 years over due for an oiling and new o-rings, and finaly a wpg auto cocker. Out of all of them i enjoy my phantom the most, espacially now with my new sight.......
Customer Review: Best bang for the buck Sport shop rating: 4 StarsDid you just break the bank buying your dream gun but have no dough for optics? Never fear! Leapers will save the day!
For about $30, you get a decent red dot that will get the job done w/o the bells and whistles. I use it on my Remington 11-87 and it still shoots 3" slugs accurately after approximately 150 of very punishing rounds. I got a second red dot for an AK-74 and the scope is more accuarate then the rifle.
This is a great scope if you plan on messing around at the range but I wouldn't put it to the test if you plan on hiking/hunting with it for days on end. The green dot option has been lost on me so far but I guess it's usefull if your being "tacti-cool" at night or something.
My only problem so far is the pin to one of the flip-up lens cover worked its way out and I used a picture frame nail to replace it. Otherwise, bang for the buck, you can't beat it.
Customer Review: nice but big for a paintball marker Sport shop rating: 4 Starsgood lens. Is a little bigger for my paintball marker (tippmann a-5) because I cant put it right with the loader. The 2 lens covers are too big, so if u wanna open and close them u will have problems with the space. Also, it comes with special adjusters to fit in the marker's rail, BUT it has (I dont know why) 2 diferent screws to fit it, the front one is lower that the rear one, so I couldnt make it fit lined up. Be carefull if you want this for a paintball marker.
