I've been quite impressed with Lansky's products in general, and this is another winner.
Huge increase in material removal speed compared to the standard 'extra coarse' stone. Even though this is a very rough tool, it will still give you a serviceable edge even without using the finer grits for finishing/polishing. If you're looking for a quick way to put a working edge on, this is it.
This is not a traditional 'stone', but rather a block of metal with a diamond cutting face on the bottom, so quite a bit heavier than usual, if that matters to you.
Almost took one star off, because none of these stones come with an extra alignment rod. Not a huge deal, but if you usually leave your kit set up (rods installed and aligned with each stone), then you'll need to buy extras from the Lansky site.
Overall, great product; definitely recommend it.
