Sports reviews of Lafuma Women's LD Xlight Md OT Trail ShoeCustomer Review: Gloved feet Sport shop rating: 4 Stars
Wearing these shoes is akin to wearing gloves on one's feet--once you get them on. The lacing system does not permit you to loosen the ankle area where your feet must go in, so you end up having to hold onto the back of the shoe (with your thumb inside the shoe), while simultaneously forcing your foot into the shoe. The result is that you are squeezing your poor thumb during this procedure as your heel slips into the shoe. Rather than torture your thumb everytime you have to put these shoes on and even risk breaking your thumb nail, get a single SHOE HORN. If you don't know what that is, go to your nearest shoe repair shop and ask them to show one to you (and sell one to you or at least tell you where to purchase one). Also ask the shoe repair person to show you how to use it. A shoe horn will likely cost under $10. And it is worth that small investment since all members of the household can use it. The shoe horn is extremely useful with shoes like these. By the way, these shoes are a little close fitting, so you might prefer going a half size larger.
