After researching all the other brands I choose this one because it had a nice digital easy to read display,not a complicated needle type. After a week of using it I bought another one for my wife. The only complaints I have is with the battery life of around 4 to 5 hours of use. I did have one instance when it started cutting on and off with certain movemints but after changing out the batteries I think it will be ok now, I hope. The rod joint isn't very steady but after wrapping electrical tape around the male part of the shaft it now feels pretty secure. I have found plenty of change and even my telephone lines at around a foot deep! Be very carefull digging in your yard!

This unit can be set to detect all Metals or set for Motion Discrimination to distinguish Ferrous and non Ferrous metals. It has three adjusting knobs for sensitivity, discrimination threshold and volume control. When a target is detected, a tone will be emitted from the built in speaker or optional headphones and the strength of the signal will be displayed. The signal strength meter helps to determine the target depth and size. An adjustable Arm Support that can be set for your comfort. Light weight and compact make's this unit easy to transport and store. The auto ground balance feature make this detector so easy to use you won't even need to read the instruction manual! Or you have the option to adjust the sensitivity and set the Discrimination function to detect all metals or ignore trash metals.
