Sports reviews of Kwik Tek Dry Pack, Nylon Belt (6-Inch x 5-Inch x 3/4-Inch

Customer Review: Great item for a cruise
Sport shop rating: 4 Stars

This Dry Pac kept my travelers checks and money dry while I swam with the stingrays in the Cayman Islands. Plenty of room left for a camera and credit cards. I would recommend this item to my friends!

Customer Review: Stayed dry in my test, Bigger than I expected, but no loop for belt
Sport shop rating: 3 Stars

I bought this bag for traveling and using at the beach to hold critical items like my phone, keys, wallet etc. I like the idea of attaching this at the waist rather than one that hangs around the neck. The bag seemed bigger and bulkier in person. The top yellow part is plastic and about 1/4" + in thickness.

I was disappointed to see that the belt wasn't attached or wouldn't be attached to the bag by a belt loop or other means. I was concerned about the belt staying around the bag when I was in the water. I also wasn't confident about the clamp keeping the bag securely attached (er, to what I'm not sure in my case). I ended up finding a wrist lanyard to attach to the bag instead. Not what I was expecting to have to do, but some peace of mind. Instead of a 4, I gave this bag a three star rating as a result.

The waterproof part worked well in sink tests, and I felt confident that the contents would stay dry. In the end, for my initial beach excursion, I had it in my beach bag, but we had a water spout touch down in front of us and left the beach without a real trial! I guess many things in life just might not go as imagined ;)

Customer Review: Works well when not overloaded
Sport shop rating: 3 Stars

This product works well when it is not overloaded. The first time we used it, I think we put too much (2 cell phones, car keys, cash & credit cards) and it leaked. The weight from the cell phones pulled at the seal and allowed water in, I believe. The other times we used it without the cell phones, there was no water at all. I had also bought a waterproof camera case that utilized a "ziploc type seal, then roll the seal down and hold it in place with velcro" system which seems a lot more secure against accidental leakages. If you can find a bag that has that system, I would recommend you get that instead.

That said, I liked the fact that this had a belt rather than a lanyard like the other products because we used it while snorkeling and having it around the neck would have been annoying and a hazard.

Customer Review: Not sure what this is actually for!
Sport shop rating: 3 Stars

I bought this to use while snorkeling - to put my electronic car key, money, credit cards, maybe a cell phone inside rather than leave them on the beach. However, I was quite surprised to read on the packaging that the product is not - apparently - designed for use under the water! So waterproof but... not submersible? I put some toilet paper in the pouch and sealed it and then placed the whole thing in a bowl of water. Soggy toilet paper. OK, forget about putting my electronic car key, cell phone etc. in this pouch. In fact, despite the many positive reviews, I have decided to return it!

3 stars is seems to work for lots of people [5], but, the manufacturer does not recommend using it under water, so I won't [0].

Customer Review: Disappointed.......
Sport shop rating: 3 Stars

I used this when I went to a waterpark and put my keys, some money and a credit card in it. I did however put those items in a ziploc bag inside the Kwik Pack because it was my first time using it and I wanted to be sure that it was water-tight. To my disappointment, when it was time for lunch, I opened it and there were some drops of water inside. Nothing major, but I really thought this item was going to keep all the water out. From the reviews I read it sounded like it worked great. My experience wasn't that great and I'm glad that I had my stuff inside the ziploc, especially my keys that had the remote attached because that could have potentially gotten ruined.
