I ordered this pouch to take on a couple of water and snorkeling excursions we had planned. The instructions recommend that you put some paper in it and put it underwater to test it before use. Our pouch passed the test with flying colors. As an added precaution, I threw in a couple of those silica gel packs you get in shoe boxes and luggage, etc. At no point were the gel packs ever activated. The bag has a tendency to float, which is great if you somehow drop it, but could conceivably cause an issue if you were planning to use it at measurable depths of water. Our excursions did not require much depth into the water (just a couple feet under) so this did not cause a problem for us. Other reviews have mentioned problems with the strap but we did not encounter any problems with the bag or the strap and will gladly use it next time we have a water trip planned.Customer Review: Perfect for any water related activities

We purchased this item for a 10 day Southern Caribbean cruise in which we knew we would be in the water the majority of the time. This size was perfect to carry our valuables, camera, lip blam, small tube of suncreen, etc. (we also purchased the larger size in case there was a beach we weren't going to return to but never ended up using it)
Everything stayed completely dry and what is nice about this bag, you can hang it around your neck or wear it like a waist belt. We went swimming in some iffy areas in which you wouldn't want to leave your room key, cash, credit cards, camera, etc. We also used it for snorkeling and river tubing. Wow, what an amazing job this did in keeping everything dry and safe!! Will never travel to the beach without it.
It also keeps you quite boyant when in the water...probably an unexpected advantage.

I read the previous reviews and did have concern on how well the pouch would work. After I got the product, I tested it with the bubble test as desccribed on the tag. It worked fine. I also followed the advise of one buyer in adding the ziplock as an additional layer of protection.... Indeed, the inside of the pouch stayed dry during all my snorkeling trips in Key West. I think the pouch might not work well if it was not closed properly.. it is so easy to trap the corner of the ziplock bag or clothing in between the seal / clips while you are opening/closing it, especially when you are wearing it around your waist. I think there is room for improvement in the design of the buckle attachment to the belt.Customer Review: Great Product

My family and I went to Cozumel and were looking for a dry bag to use during our SeaTrek (helmet diving) excursion. I emailed the manufacturer and asked if this product was appropriate for use at 20' depth. They said that they did not guarantee the product below the surface but that they have tested it successfully to 30'. Well - it worked great. We spent 30-40 minutes at a depth of 20 to 22 feet and it kept everything inside perfectly dry. We had also tested it in our pool at a depth of 9 feet for 2 hours. It worked great there too. I recommend this product but be sure to test it before depending on it...just in case.Customer Review: Good Item

The bag is big enough to keep a few key items in it. I only used it in the water one day, but it kept my stuff dry. I used it for things I didn't want to leave on the beach, room key, cash, and even my sunglasses. I snorkeled with it around my waist for over half an hour, and it performed as advertised.
One caution is if you have wet hands when removing something and get moisture inside, that moisture will stay unless you wipe out or dry out the bag. It keeps wet out and in equally, so remember to towel your hands off if you will be in and out of the bag. :)
