Yes, it's on the heavy side. No, it's not THAT much heavier than a U-lock. It's a terrific lock.
Downside: The keys do feel a bit flimsy compared to the lock but they do their job. My previous OnGuard lock came with 5 keys, this one comes with 3. I couldn't use the frame bracket with my 52" Specialized Langster, there just isn't enough room in the main triangle to mount the lock and leave ample room for taking it out (it's a pretty beefy lock). Also, keep in mind the anti-theft guarantee is only for up to 2 years and requires you to send them some money (I think $30). I didn't bother doing it.

Great lock. Turns smoothly and works awesome. Personally, haven't tried the bracket, but if you commute to work/school, might be better to leave the lock in 1 place. I paired with with a 6 foot python masterlock cable to make it an awesome combination. I leave the lock at school due to it being heavy, but carry the cable around with me wherever I go.
Will update if I face any problems. Keys don't seem to be a problem. The lock turns really smoothly so I haven't had to deal with the flimsiness of the lock key. Just make sure it is in all the way and turn it gently. :)

This will probably be the the last lock I buy for many years. It is very heavy duty. A little on the heavy side, but totally work it. A u-lock is a great improvement over the crappy wal mart cable lock I had. The size is just right for getting around my bike and rear tire when I really need to, but it still gives me enough wiggle room so I don't have to just lock to a rack. I feel much better about my bike as a whole with this lock. Easy and fast to use!Customer Review: very solid, well-tested

Do yourself a favor and Google the integrity tests for U-locks done by one of the European agencies. This U-lock outperformed the other competitors, and I trust my very expensive bicycle to it at the gym while I change for work.
That said, I would never leave any bicycle outside overnight, no matter what lock was being used. All locks are basically delays to thieves, and at night, thieves have much more time to work.

Great sturdy lock... very well protected... I'VE NEVER HAD ANY problems with the key & lock as long as you don't jam the ke into the lock... great for the price provided. Metal seems very sturdy and although kinda big so difficult to carry around weight is expected but a lil heavy.
but i mean i feel secure and my bike isn't gonna get stolen unless someone sits there for a long time to draw attention.
