I am a bicycle nut. I own and ride 13 different bicycles. On most of those bicycles, I can change tires with hand power alone. However, I have some wheels that are very difficult to change tires on. I have snapped several plastic levers trying to do the deed. I resorted to flat-blade screwdrivers. That worked, but has a tendency to poke holes in your tubes.
I bought some alloy levers, which were much, much better, but on some wheels it is still annoying to put on reluctant tires.
So I bought this gizmo due to the reviews here. The reviews were right. This thing is great. It is more than great: it is great and it is inexpensive. You can't lose. This thing works great (but I said that already, I think).
No longer am I worried about pinching a tube and poking a hole in it by excessive prying on a tight tire with tire levers.
This thing is only plastic, but it is well-built and completely sturdy enough for the job.
This gizmo will make your tire-changing life much easier if you have some wheels that are difficult to change tires on. Did you ever pinch a hole in a tube trying to flip on the very last edge of a tire that just did not want to go on the rim? Get this thing and save yourself the trouble of taking the tire back off and patching the tube*. And you won't have to cuss as much either.
However, this only works with road bike sized tires. The "Y" is not big enough to accept the bulk of most mountain bike, BMX, or cruiser type tires.
Anyway, for road bike sized tires, this thing works great and is well worth the money.
