I bought the 12-24 month size for my 15-month old daughter. There's room for her to grow (quite a lot of room because she is petite for her age), but despite the loose fit the wetsuit did it's job. I take my daughter to a 30-minute swim lesson each week in a heated indoor pool and she would be shivering almost immediately. She would cling to me and hated being set on the side of the pool--out of the water--where she is supposed to jump to me in the water. I dressed her in the wetsuit for her last lesson and she was like a different kid in the water. Instead of shivering she was splashing and having fun! She was still chilly sitting on the edge of the pool, but she didn't seem to be on the verge of hypothermia as she often seemed before. The class instructor asked me about the suit and said she might get one for her son because he also is cold in the water. She also said that the suit might be thick enough to provide some minimal floatation, but certainly not to the level of a "floaty" or life-saving device. In summary, if your little one is easily chilled in a pool, this wetsuit might be just what he/she needs!
