PLEASE BE CAREFUL -- we don't want this to happen to anyone else. This product is a great idea, but our poor son was using it and got hurt. Because this footrest is just above the pedals, if a child pushes down with one foot, the bike stops short. I noticed it has also happened to reviewers of the other Kettler footrest listed on Amazon. When this happened to our boy, he was wearing the waist belt, but his head still flew forward into the handle bars. That alone would have hurt him badly, but he also had the bell mounted to he handle bars, and the bell handle went right into his head just above his eye. It missed his eye by only an inch. He was badly hurt, but it would have been far worse if his eye had been poked out. Please don't let this happen to your precious child! We removed the footrest right away and threw it out.
