Description of Kettler Kettrike Happy Navigator TricycleMaxXtread tires, 5 Position QUIK-ADJUST Frame Trike Ideal for children just learning to get around on their own, the HKS Kettrike Happy Navigator tricycle boasts several versatile features for kids and the grownups who love them. The trike employs Kettler's telescoping Quick-Adjust frame, which invites parents to expand the trike each time their toddler experiences a growth spurt. The telescoping frame is a must for parents who don't want to ditch the trike after just a few months of use. Kids will also love the Auto-Freewheel function, which lets them rest their feet on the pedals while a parent guides them around with the pushbar. And thanks to the Parental Control steering lock system, kids won't be able to steer the trike in random directions while the grownups push. Other details include a patented rear wheel steering system with an on/off mechanism and MaxXtread wheels with a dual-layer safety tread wheel pattern that keeps the trike from spinning on wet pavement or other slippery surfaces. As with all Kettrikes, the HKS Kettrike Happy Navigator is backed by a lifetime main frame warranty and three-year limited parts warranty.
Sports reviews of Kettler Kettrike Happy Navigator TricycleCustomer Review: Over two years old and still love it Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
We bought this for our son when he was two (he is now four) and absolutely love it and have now passed it on to his little brother who also just loves it. I put it together myself in about 30 minutes with no issues but like all toys, read all the instructions first.
I love the ability to lock the steering so you can steer with the push bar and the pivoting wheels in the back. Both our boys love the little yellow bin in the back, something I really didn't think they would notice but they always fill it with leaves or such and play "dump truck" with it.
If you have little ones, I would suggest purchasing the optional seat belt just to keep smaller kids secure.
Quality is excellent and worth the money. Highly recommend it.
Customer Review: Great trike--well made, instant hit with daughter Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
I talked the grandparents into splitting the cost of the trike with us 3-ways (they had sticker shock at the price), but when we got the thing all assembled, it was clear that we made the right choice over a cheaper model. This trike will last my daughter (18 months at purchase) until she starts riding a bike with training wheels, and will then be inherited by potential future younger sibling.
Definitely buy the seatbelt kit and the little red bell is a big hit as well.
It's great that the wheels can lock so that she doesn't have to pedal.
Only things I wish for now are foot brake for mommy (like I have on the stroller--instant stop) and maybe a cup holder ;)
Customer Review: Best Tricycle on the Market Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
After tons of research (since only the best would do for our first grandson), I selected the Kettler Kettrike for his first tricycle. It is so solid and has held up well since it was to sit outside on a covered porch year round. It was easy for him to learn to pedal and many valuable treasures are hauled in the little yellow trunk on the back. The removeable handle saved our family's backs until he got the hang of it. We bought it for him for his 2nd birthday and now, at almost 3, he can ride it 4 miles for breakfast on Sunday AM with Dad!
Customer Review: Best Trike for Toddlers Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
My 14 month old son can not get enough of this trike. The 3 in 1 freewheel is what makes this trike stand out. The nearly identical version of this trike by Kiddo does not have freewheel, so the pedals continue to move and hit your child's feet when an adult is pushing. The pedals on the Navigator stay in place, making it a much more enjoyable ride for youngsters who can not pedal on thier own. The Navigator is also more sturdy and easier to assemble. I highly recomend this model over other, less expensive versions.
Customer Review: expensive but worth it! Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
The happy navigator really fits the needs of my 18 month old. Although she can't reach the pedals, she's close. She truely loves being pushed around and I'm sure can't wait till she's in control. I added the seatbelt to it since my angel likes to jump off things while still in motion:) The instruction can be a little tricky, but just be patient and read them all first so you don't have to go back and undo things. Also if you add the seatbelt make sure to pre-drill the holes in the seat. Way to hard to do by hand.
