"I'VE WANTED THIS ALL OF MY WIFE {life}!"......that was the top of his lungs exclamation after opening the Kettler Cat Excavator on Christmas morning. Although he just turned 4 this December, my grandson has, for years it seems, been interested in tractors, excavators, all kinds of heavy equipment, whose names I don't know, but he surely does. He had asked for an "excabator" earlier this summer. I read reviews since then, on all kinds, and decided this was the one I'd get him for Christmas. Papaw put it together without too much trouble. The look on his face when he saw it was worth the price! But this is something he'll be able to play with for years; I just don't see him ever tiring of it! He put it to use within 15 minutes, scooping a huge pile of snow that had fallen off our roof on to the deck. He learned very quickly how to operate the levers, and only charged us two {pretend} dollars to clear a pathway out!
You will not be sorry...get one! It's worth it's weight in gold! Absolutely the best present I've ever purchased for any of my grandchildren, and I have 6!

My husband chose this for our son as an alternative gift to the usual Bruder toys he already has. Don't get me wrong, Bruder's oversized trucks are interactive and fun, but what a GREAT lifesize working toy for the boy (which one you might ask, the 4 or 40 year old?) who loves to play in the dirt, leaves and sand. This excavator is made of sturdy metal and isn't very hard or time consuming to assemble. There's only one part that Jack gets frustrated with and it's the red flip-lock that holds the scoop in what I call the "off the floor" position that you see in the photo. I'm confident with use he'll get the hang of pulling back on the handles and easily flipping that piece back to let the scoop drop to the ground. This is a great toy for all ages as my 7 year old daughter loves to sneak a scoop or two when Jack isn't looking...and Dad is out looking for one that will hold his weight!Customer Review: WORTH EVERY PENNY!

We bought this excavator for my son's second birthday and he just loves it! He is a big kid, so he is able to sit in the seat and manipulate the bucket. The arm does lock - and he is not coordinated enough yet to pull back the left lever and unlock the arm. It is not an issue because at this point, he is just happy to sit and spin around on it. It does cost a chunk of change, but is worth every penny. I know that he will play with this for years! Not one regret with this purchase!Customer Review: great TOUGH little toy

I recently got this for my 5 yr old who is obsessed with diggers and construction equipment.This thing is built to last lemme tell ya.its all metal except for the rubber treads and the seat so its ment to stand the test of time and the abuse of a kid.heck ill even play with him and get my butt on this thing and scoop up stuff,fun little toy.great to bring to a beach to...just be prepaired for every little kid wanting to test it out.Customer Review: Kettler Cat Excavator

My four year old son received this for Christmas and it is great. It seems very sturdy. The seat seems small but he does not seems to mind. It is more expensive than others I've seen, however, I think you get what you pay for. This one seems like it will last awhile. My husband did not have trouble assembling it but he did say the directions could have been a bit more clear.
