I got this scooter for my son for Christmas - he's 8. We live on a gravel road with a very short paved driveway so I wanted to get him something he could use everywhere. He said it's still bumpy but good and rode it all over the place.
It took my husband a while to put together. Everything was fine except for the brakes. It took what I feel too much time to get them adjusted and he became aggravated but once he got it done he was well pleased.
The scooter looks great and well built. I would recommend it for your child.

After checking out many options for our very tall 4 year old we chose this scooter. We love it and our son is thrilled.
Assembly would have been impossible for us as we are totally inept at that sort of thing but my 60 year old father got it together in less than an hour :)
Worst case scenario I guess would be having to take it to a bike shop and beg them to assemble it! But I still think it's totally worth the money!

We have a Huffy scooter with rubber tires and handbrakes for my older son. When my younger son became of age for the same type of thing, we discovered that the Huffy wasn't made anymore. We were delighted with this scooter. Maybe even more so than the Huffy. This sort of scooter is reminiscent of old day scooters, pre Razors. This type of scooter is so much better than a Razor or any of the new fangled types for the money. My sons starting riding this sort of hearty scooter at age 5 - 6. My daughter loves it. It has a smooth ride. Tires just glide over bumps. Only complaint is the colors wish I could have had a choice. It is a great buy.
