Sports reviews of Kent Super ScooterCustomer Review: Would be great, but assembly problems spoil it Sport shop rating: 2 StarsWe purchased this scooter in January to give my son for his 9th birthday in early February. He already has a Razor and enjoys it; we felt that the addition of larger wheels and handbrakes would be a plus.
And they would have been, had we been able to assemble the handbrakes without help. But four hands working together with our own tools were not able to tighten the rear brake sufficiently and align the calipers to the wheel rim. We ended up taking it to the bike shop, and even the technician there told us it was a difficult job.
Once it was assembled, the scooter was greatly enjoyed - until something happened (we think our child or a friend dropped the scooter on its side) to bend the brake calipers. We would've thought they were sturdier, and certainly we couldn't muster enough strength to bend them back, but in any case the brakes are now useless, and we don't feel the scooter is safe to ride any longer.
The frame really does seem sturdy, and we think the design is good. For that, the scooter gets two stars. But between assembly issues and having it only two months before seeing major damage, I can't give it more than that.
Customer Review: nice scooter Sport shop rating: 3 Starsthis scooter is pretty nice, im giving it 3 stars because its really heavy, it only comes in blue, its hard for young kids to manage, and finally its not very fast. However its sturdy and well made, would be better for maybe kids 8 and up.
Customer Review: Good, Solid Scooter Sport shop rating: 5 StarsVery well built scooter. Assembly was relatively simple. My 7 year old son loves it! Given its quality, I anticipate handing it down to my two younger boys. It is actually sturdy enough that I can use it (at 190lbs), although my weight causes it to ride very close to the ground. I searched a great deal for a scooter, and I'm confident I made the right choice.
Customer Review: Great Gift and Safer for Kids than the Razor Sport shop rating: 4 StarsLove this scooter. Had one of these type scooters when I was a little Kid and loved the fact that you can jump ramps and ride off of curbs without breaking bones. When I seen this online, I had to order 2 of them for my 6 and 8 year old boys. They have been riding these almost everyday since christmas morning. Unlike a razor scooter, when you hit a little pebble or a a crack in the sidewalk, this thing keeps going. Very easy to put together. Only problem I had was with the break system, wich still isnt right, but works ok for now. I would say if there was anything I would like to be different, is that the break system be put together before it is shipped. Other than that, I would give it 5 stars.
Customer Review: Great Scooter - Lots of Assembly Required Sport shop rating: 4 StarsThe scooter once you get it assembled is great. The only issue is the amount of assembly required. Needed a lot more tools than was listed too.
