Description of Kent Scooter and Kick Bike System

Cruise around town in style with this unique scooter and bike combo from Kent. Constructed of sturdy steel, this scooter/bike pushes like a regular scooter, but offers 12-inch inflatable tires to roll over anything (unlike traditional inline skate wheels and many scooters that stop when you hit a rock). Additionally, real side pull brakes and brake levers--rather than a small lever--will ensure stopping power while cruising along. The bicycle component of this unique combo offers foldable pedals attached to the rear wheel to easily switch out from a scooter to a bike in no time. You can store this innovative riding machine almost anywhere as it folds down to 38 by 21 by 12 inches when folded. Toss it in the back of the car or RV for fun and easy transportation. Kids of all ages (and adults, too) will have fun riding this fun combo scooter/bike. The maximum rider weight is 200 pounds.

Specifications:

  • Steel frame
  • 12" inflatable tires
  • Front and rear side pull brakes
  • Folds to 38 by 21 by 12 inches
  • 200-pound weight capacity

Customer Review: Nice & Sturdy
Sport shop rating: 4 Stars

This bike is for my husband who is of average height and weight, and it is sufficiently sturdy for him. I thought it was a good price and value, it was a little difficult to align all the parts, but worth it in the end. I would not hesitate to purchase again.

Customer Review: Bad product and defective material
Sport shop rating: 2 Stars

First of all, the brakes are not what you would rely on to stop the scooter. Second, the scooter is heavy and cumbersome. Thirdly, the scooter came with DEFECTIVE PARTS. I'm an engineer and I could not get the handlebars to fit the wheel. It was a wash out. I think that parts from other stuff were packed together. LASTLY, the instruction manual is so poorly designed as to illustrate nothing. You must look at what they have sent you and figure where what goes with what.

Amen.

Customer Review: Feel like a kid again....
Sport shop rating: 5 Stars

My company has three buildings in a campus setting and I go between all three buildings during the work day. Thought having a scooter could make the journey faster and more interesting. I had looked at a razor scooter but liked the fact that this scooters' tires are bigger and safer. Also, I'm 5'9" so I wanted to make sure the scooter was comfortable for my height either standing as I scoot or sitting as I pedal. Glad I bought the version with the bike pedals as the ride one way is down hill and of course uphill the opposite direction. So - now I use the scooter to glide downhill from building to building and the pedals to go back up hill (a great workout). Easy to put together, great quality product, excellent price. Several of my work friends have now ordered one for themselves. Who says you can't have fun when you are over 40?

Customer Review: Consider Your Needs
Sport shop rating: 3 Stars

This product looks great! However looks can be deceiving for some. I purchased this scooter/bike to help my dog get more exercise with speed that went beyond my current jogging ability. With momentum, coasting was a bit sluggish on flat surfaces. Riding downhill was ok, but felt dangerous because the brakes didn't seem to have spot-on stopping power. Going uphill was tragic. Additionally, I found it extremely difficult to reach and use the peddles, which seemed to spin uselessly while the scooter was in motion. The seat is rock hard. So if you plan to purchase this product anyway, consider changing to a better quality seat and ride with protective gear and with caution, especially downhill.

Customer Review: Not what I anticipated
Sport shop rating: 2 Stars

My son is 13 and about 125 lbs. The scooter sounded like a great way to move him up from the little Razors which are rated for lighter kids and often don't endure his crazy tricks and ideas. This scooter is of good quality although it was a little challenging to put together. There are three main problems:
1) The inflatable tires don't have a firm enough ride to allow for tricks. They absorb the road, but also the ability to get a smooth ride. I did try inflating them more, but it had no affect on the ride.
2) The clearance on the road with the tires is such that the middle of the scooter can get caught on uneven surfaces. You know the phenomena of something suspended in the middle when trying to cross train tracks. The clearance is so low that it gets suspended on a my paved driveway where a root has caused a slight incline.
3) The scooter works best at a bike, but it is not possible to get any speed. The scooter qualities are lost with the other two issues.
My son was psyched about ordering it for his birthday, but after two days of experimenting with it has parked it back in the garage. The issue was definitely my expectation of it being more of a scooter that could be used for jumping, twisting, and riding like smaller scooters. The product itself was very nice.
