Customer Review: A good self powered flashlight
Sport shop rating: 4 Stars

This is a very nice tool. It can be used for camping, placed in your nightstand, or in the glove box. There are 2 levels for the light. The low level lights up 1 led, and the high level lights 5 leds. It's not super bright, but again, it's more than enough if you only use it while walking your dog. The radio buttons are some kinda small, thus may be difficult for some people to change channel. It also has a siren function, but not very loud. With about 1 minute cranking, the battery can hold enough electricity for the flashlight to work with all 5 leds lit up for about 45 minutes, and then fade out about 20 minutes. The radio consumes much more electricity than the leds. You can only expect the radio work for 5 minutes at most. The crank is relatively hard to crank, i.e. more resistant, if you clockwise, but easy the other way. I assume more electricity could be generated with more resistance. The quality is OK for its price. Everything outside is made of plastic. The crank is hold by two very small screws, as the result, I dare not to crank fast and use my full strength when cranking. The flashlight button is removable and came off the second day when my 4-year old son played with it. But I believe a little glue will fix it. Overall, I'm happy with this purchase.

Customer Review: A good gift and a good part of one's emergency kit
Sport shop rating: 4 Stars

It seems to work just fine, although the charge on the LED light doesn't last too long. Still, it's just a hand-crank away from shining brightly again. The 3-LED and 5-LED option included on the same flashlight are a nice way of being able to adjust the level of light that is needed. I've also had the "shaker" model of flashlight and it just seemed like it was more effort than the crank type of flashlight and that they often couldn't come equipped with additional features such as a radio due to the rapid shaking required for them. Also, I like that the crank feature is easy for a child to use. This is not a very expensive item so it makes a good gift, but you do get what you pay for which means this is mostly lightweight plastic and I think I had one of the knobs unscrew after a short while. For the price, you get a lot, though, and it's cheap enough to warrant purchase for the home and the car.

Customer Review: Ordered 4 items and only 3 worked
Sport shop rating: 4 Stars

I ordered four of these windup radio/flashlights, three out of the four worked the fourth one was not operational at all. These do work exactly as the information says. They are pretty cool and will come in handy in the next storm. We live out in the country and I thought it would be nice to have a windup radio/flashlight for tornado season. So these were the great stocking stuffers.

Sadly, I have to return the fourth one and order a replacement. I will leave a review on how the whole return service went. This will be my first time having to return an online order.

As for the cell phone charging operation I am not sure what attachment I would have to get to use it but it does sound like a nice option.

Customer Review: Feeling cranky, well, are ya Punk?
Sport shop rating: 4 Stars

This is a hand-cranked light with radio built in. I live in tornado alley where storms and power outages can be the norm sometimes. Having a light and radio ready to function without batteries and during power outages (knowing where that twister is headed is a BIG plus) is a great comfort... provided, of course, you know where you put it and can find it in the dark.

On the down-side, I really don't like the light from LEDs. I know they don't burn out and that they are all the rage now, but I just can't bring myself to like the beam put off from them. Also, it's all-plastic and built like a typical plastic flashlight... which is to say, not that great. Make sure you have other emergency tools at hand, not just this one.

Customer Review: Nice product to have around
Sport shop rating: 4 Stars

This is a very useful little product and for the price well worth it. I know there are a lot of different levels of quality in these and if you plan on heavy use you may want to research it and get the best. I don't know much about that but for occasional use this one seems to be a good value. The light is strong and the radio works fine. If you are someone that never has batteries every time you go to use your current light this is a good buy.
