VERY handy device to have for severe weather season in case it is necessary to quickly take shelter in the storm cellar where it will be kept, sealed in a ziplock plastic bag to protect it from moisture, and never a worry about dead batteries. I was delighted with its compact size and how well it functioned after the required two minutes of cranking to charge the unit. The LED light was VERY bright and radio reception was good, even in the rural area in which I live. Now I can rest more assured that next time the tornado sirens sound and I need to be in my cellar, at LEAST I know I will have a light and a link to the outside world.
I am sure this unit is NOT intended for every day use but seems perfectly suited for the reason I purchased it. A VERY good value for the money, indeed!

I purchased this device for a presentation I had to do in class on kinetic energy. Part of the project requirements were to use the device as a replacement of something we'd normally use electricity for. I was a bit wary about replacing my evening lights with this flashlight, but so far it's been AMAZING! Just a few cranks and I have a bright flashlight that is reasonable for bumping around my house. I also really enjoy listening to the radio with it, something I have not done for a long time.
Sure, it's kind of novel, but I am happy to have it around. It is one of the best flashlights I've ever had! I would be gentle with the crank, it doesn't seem too sturdy, but otherwise, a great little device. Love it for its fun and functionality!

This thing is very bright, and has a dimmer switch. The radio is clear and lasts quite a long while with 20 seconds of cranking. I havent tried messing with the USB on it, looks scarey and I think you need another part to make it work. If not, then they didnt include it in my box.
If I can get the USB to be able to plug into my cell phone, this thing should get 6 stars. It is a very good little machine. THe crank is neither delicate nore very strong. However, you dont have to keep cranking so it should last a very long time.

great flashlight/radio/siren combo, easy to crank, bright and has good sound. can convienently stand up on its own, fits into you hand, pocket or bag comfortably. will likely be getting plenty more of them for gifts. it's the best of its kind i found on the market and have been entirely pleased with it thus far. the radio functions well with hardly any cranking the flashlight needs just a bit more and is brighter than another model i'd been given.Customer Review: awesome flash light

the flash light is awesome. it's bright and easy to charge. it's much better than the shake flash lights b/c it's easier and takes much less effort to charge it up. the charge does seem to last a long time though i haven't measured the time specifically. the design is pretty nice too. the radio does work well but it could be tough to find some of the stations. the dial is small and tuning is not very granular.
