Description of Ironman Gravity 4000 Inversion TableThe IronMan Gravity 4000 Inversion Table is built with a durable extra wide tubular steel frame with a scratch resistant powder coated finish. It has a Memory foam vinyl covered backrest with a removable lumbar pillow for a comfortable head and lower back. It has tough rubber non-skid floor stabilizers that provide stability when inverting. Extra long safety handles provide easy return to the upright position and vinyl safety covers are added for safety. The ergonomically molded ankle holders provide comfort and security. When not in use the Gravity 4000 can be folded for stroage. Whether you want to reduce back stress or fatigue or stimulate your blood circulation, the Ironman Gravity 4000 inversion table makes a great household accessory. The inversion table contributes to your body's overall health by optimizing lumbar traction, thereby relieving pressure on your vertebrae discs and ligaments. And when your back starts to relax, the rest of your body follows. The table can also help with such areas as increasing body flexibility for improved athletic performance, reducing the effects of aging due to gravity, and relieving lower backaches due to sitting or standing. The Gravity 4000 boasts a durable tubular steel frame, a scratch-resistant powder-coated finish, and a memory-foam-vinyl-covered backrest with a removable lumbar pillow. More importantly, the inversion system is a breeze to use: once you rest your body against the nylon backrest and slip your feet into the ergonomically molded ankle cushions, simply reach your arms over your head. As your arms go up, your body gradually inverts up to 90 degrees. The only inputs are your energy and gravity itself. Users will also appreciate the tough rubber non-skid floor stabilizers, which keep the table stable while you invert, and the extra-long safety handles, which provide an easy return to an upright position. Other details include a height-adjustable frame up to 6 feet 6 inches; support for up to 350 pounds; vinyl safety side covers to protect hands and fingers; three starting inversion angles; and a patented, palm-activated adjusting ratchet ankle locking system. The Gravity 4000, which folds into a compact footprint for easy storage, measures 26 by 65 by 49 inches (W x H x D) and weighs 75 pounds. Sports reviews of Ironman Gravity 4000 Inversion TableCustomer Review: GREAT PRODUCT !!! Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
After years of lower back pain and 4 different Chiropractors, I was finally advised that I should purchase an inversion table to help alleviate the pain. I did quite a bit of research on various tables, and finally decided on the Ironman Gravity 4000. I waited with great anticipation while this product was being shipped, and I was not disappointed when it arrived. Upon opening the box, you can quickly see that this is a heavy duty and high quality product. Assembly was quite easy, but a second person would be helpful when mounting the table on the stand. Total time by myself was a little over 30 minutes. I tried the table out immediately, and as others have said in previous reviews, that the height adjustment is a a little off. In order to get myself balanced properly, I have to set the height an inch higher than my actual height (my wife is the same). Like I said, this is no problem at all (unless you are already at the top range of the recommended height of the table), because adjusting is very simple. I am 6'3" and about 240 lbs and I could not feel more secure when on the table. It is very sturdy and strong and easy to use. Also, I find that the ankle supports are very comfortable (considering) and easy to use. I would recommend wearing tennis shoes with a large tongue if you plan on staying inverted for an extended period of time. The strap that limits the inversion angle is a great feature, but could be a little easier to adjust. My only other minor complaint is that the unit will not fold completely flat as I had hoped. I wanted to stow the table under a bed when not in use, but in order to do this, I would have to to remove the table from the stand (which is attached by bolts and nuts), and this is two much of a headache. I have resorted to putting in a closet (a big closet).
Overall, I would HIGHLY recommend this product to anyone who asks. I have been using it for about 5 days now, and can already tell a marked improvement in my back pain, and I think it will continue to do so for many years to come.
Customer Review: The Best!! Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
After looking at the reviews and then comparing the tables in the database I picked this one. I am really glad I did! I feel that this one is the best! It is heavy-duty to the max! If you want to fold it up everyday then you will have to remove two screws which to me would start to be a hassle after day 3!
I have three different types of Arthritis including one that will stiffen my spine and also my neck over my lifetime. My neck and spine have already started to "freeze-up" and I wanted this to hopefully loosen my neck and spine since I have chronic pain in these areas. I am real glad to report that this table does really help my problem areas! Is it a miracle cure? No, just another tool to be used in my daily war against chronic pain.
Pro's
Heavyduty you don't need to be afraid that it will not hold you because it will
Padded back
Lumbar support
Easy to put together
Three different adjustments plus height adjustments.
Really well made
Con's
Not easily fold-able-you will need to take-out two screws and nuts each time
Large footprint-This table is heavy-duty and has a wide stance that is put to good use.
Box is heavy- 89 pounds you will need either two people or a two wheeler or cart to move it to the place you wish to put it together.
In closing, I read somewhere in the reviews about setting the height adjustment to 1 inch higher than the person that will use it. I agree with this only for the fact that it gives you a greater area for your head if you are using a pillow or towel or brace. I did not wish to do sit-ups with this table so it does not matter to me that it is not made for exercising. I think a person could figure out a way to do all the exercising he wishes since their is an adjustable strap at the bottom of the table that adjusts your incline.
I hope if you buy this model 4000 that you like it as well as I do and Good Luck with your success!
Customer Review: Ironman 4000 Inversion Table... Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
Let me start by saying I have very bad back pain and two herniated discs. I spend a lot of time researching back pain treatments. I went to several chiropractors for many years, and to be honest I've always left disappointed. After spending at least $100,000 over the past 20 years I gave up on them. The more articles I read the more I've seen good things about inversion, particularly for my problem (lower back pain). I spent months reading about every table, and finally decided to go with the Ironman Gravity 4000, especially for the solid frame, heavy padded backrest, and that other people that use the table said it wasn't hard on the ankles, like many tables are. I placed the order here, and it finally came earlier today (exactly on the due date, kudos Amazon!). Assembly was fairly easy, and all the tools are provided. When I first opened the gigantic box I was overwhelmed. I thought, dear god how am I going to put this together? But it really wasn't bad, and it's mostly assembled already. Took about 45 min to an hour to build. I was pleased to find that the other reviews were right, 1. This is a solid piece of equipment and is extremely sturdy 2. It's pretty easy on the ankles and I didn't wear shoes 3. I felt relief almost immediately after using it. Being upside down didn't bother me at all and I found it pretty relaxing, although my girlfriend was a different story and felt some mild vertigo. In her defense I was into gymnastics and Martial Arts when I was younger and I have flight training, so being upside down never bothered me. I spent 5 minutes on my first try, completely inverted, although most people say they didn't start that way, it felt good to me so I went with it. I'm very serious about getting rid of my back pain so I assure you I will use it several times a day. As time goes by I will update this review with my progress so you can judge for yourself. But let me stress once again, this is a very well built, sturdy table. And so far it's pretty comfortable!!
Customer Review: Great Sturdy Table ~ exellent value Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
I am 39 years old on my 3rd problem with pinched sciatic nerve in 8 years. I did recieve two Epidural Shots which took the pain away, but I wanted a back up plan to keep the pain away and help straighten my spine. So I cannot review this product on helping with pain as I have none, but there are other aspects to mention.
The product is fantastic value, very well built and very easy to assemble (i have recently spent hours putting together dressers & bookcases for my daughter and this was a breeze compared).
One my 1st try on the table I felt 2 or 3 clicks in my spine opening up, which felt great. Bad news I am not the best when it comes to getting dizzy, sea sick, etc. So I didn't enjoy my 1st couple try's on the table as I felt nauseous. So here is what you do, set the safety belt to a low degree setting to stop from going too steep to early. Go back slowly, but more important come back up slowly too. I would pull little by little on the side bars until upright, take a full minute if it helps. Step off and just raise your head up to normal and get your balance and bearings for 10 seconds. Then each day or two, adjust the belt bit by bit so you hang steeper and steeper.
Also, set the table a few inches taller than your actual height. I'm 5'10" but I feel I over-hang just a touch.
I also don't wear any shoes or socks, I find the foot clamps very comfortable and it's a tight squeeze to get my tennis shoes into the clamps.
The table is a big item, I keep it in the garage ~ and head out there morning and night to hang upside down. Do not buy this product if you think you can easily slide it under a bed or out the way.
I'm so pleased with this purchase, and thrilled so many reviewers on here have found great relief from our curse of back pain. I hope to be using it for many years to come.
Customer Review: The Best of Its Kind Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
I received the table in about 5 days via UPS. It weighs 85 lbs., so you know this thing is sturdy! There was some damage to the packaging, so before I signed for it, I inspected it for visible damage of the contents. Everything seemed fine. I took it out of the package and checked the contents for concealed damage and against the parts list to be sure nothing was missing. There was no damage nor was anything missing. Assembly took about 20 minutes and was a breeze for me. I have a lot of experience with inversion, since I have inversion boots and used to use those regularly. The ankle holders seemed quite secure and the mechanism was very easy to operate. I put on the safety strap so that I'd invert to about 60 degrees and I could test the inversion table. I inverted and stayed there for about 5 minutes and my ankles felt comfortable in the locks. My back felt remarkably better after only the first session. The pain of my sciatica was also lessened. But, of course, 5 minutes was way too long since I hadn't inverted in ages, so the next day I had significant muscular soreness in my upper back from muscles I didn't even know I had. That's a caution against doing too much too soon. Two weeks later I use it every day about 3 times a day. I feel like I have a brand new back and even the numbness in my toes from the sciatica is gradually disappearing. I don't see any way you can go wrong with this inversion table.
