Description of Ironman Gravity 1000 Inversion TableThe IronmanŽ Endurance 100 inversion table is built with a strong steel frame and scratch-resistant powder-coated finish. It has a soft, foam-covered backrest for comfort when inverting, and extra-long safety handles provide easy return to the upright position. Whether you want to reduce back stress or fatigue or stimulate your blood circulation, the Ironman Gravity 1000 inversion table makes a great household accessory. The inversion table contributes to your body's overall health by optimizing lumbar traction, thereby relieving pressure on your vertebrae discs and ligaments. And when your back starts to relax, the rest of your body follows. The table can also help with such areas as increasing body flexibility for improved athletic performance, reducing the effects of aging due to gravity, and relieving lower backaches due to sitting or standing. The Gravity 1000 boasts a durable tubular steel frame with a scratch-resistant powder-coated finish. The backrest, meanwhile, is made of a tough nylon material that's extremely durable yet still comfortable when the table is in use. Most importantly, the inversion system is a breeze to use: once you rest your body against the nylon backrest and slip your feet into the ergonomically molded ankle cushions, simply reach your arms over your head. As your arms go up, your body gradually inverts up to 90 degrees. The only inputs are your energy and gravity itself. Users will also appreciate the tough rubber non-skid floor stabilizers, which keep the table stable while you invert, and the extra-long safety handles, which provide an easy return to an upright position. Other details include a height-adjustable frame up to 6 feet 6 inches; support for up to 300 pounds; vinyl safety side covers to protect hands and fingers; and a durable spring-loaded ankle locking system. The Gravity 1000, which folds into a compact footprint for easy storage, measures 25 by 62 by 49 inches (W x H x D) and weighs 46 pounds. Sports reviews of Ironman Gravity 1000 Inversion TableCustomer Review: Sturdy, Quality, Comfortable and Affordable Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
I have been researching these for some time now and I've finally bit the bullet and ordered mine. I am a male, 49 years old, 190lbs with a bulging disc between L4 & L5. I have endured constant pain for a few years, sometimes it goes away, but the little bit of stress on my lower back and it comes haunting me again. The Ironman 1000 was my choice. When I read about a man that weighed 290lbs and he felt safe...it was a no-brainer. I am just now beginning my regiment on this crazy machine, so I will return with an update in about 30 days.
As far as assembly, Ironman provides you with everything you need, even wrenches and phillips head driver. The tools are even quality and sturdy. They give you all the bolts in a vacuum-sealed package so you can clearly see all the pieces are there. The instructions are quite explanitory and even a complete dunce my me can put this thing together within a hour (my wife was pleased that from start to finish and even cleaning up the garbage I didn't take up her living room for more than 60 minutes).
Everything about this product speaks quality and affordability. I purchased mine via online at Wally World. They shipped it to me in FOUR days from NY to California. It even arrived on Christmas Eve (when I'm writing this) via FedEx. It cost me only $2.95 for shipping! Amazing!
Check back to get my review in 30 days. Also, I've heard that wearing hiking boots will help with the ankle-pressure problem.
Customer Review: Very good buy! Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
After reading the reviews on most of the inversion tables available through Amazon, I decided on the Ironman 1000. The price is very reasonable compared to the others and it received high ratings. After 2 weeks of use I find it money well spent.
Assembly was fairly simple and is built very sturdy. If I were to change one thing on this table, it would have to be the changing of the pivot holes on the pivot arms. As it is, you need to remove a couple of bolts and lift of the table to be able to change settings. This is really not a big deal though and only takes a couple minutes to do.
After some testing of different height settings on the adjustable boom, the operation of this table was very smooth. Again after some experimenting I found it very easy to go from the fully inverted position to the start position without having to bend at the waist. Simple arm movements will allow you to do this and there is also the handle bars along the sides to use if needed. I can only speak for myself, but I found no discomfort what so ever with the adjustable ankle locks and can stay inverted for several minutes without even noticing what is holding me there. (yes, wear comfortable shoes and I snug the locks up tight)
I experienced the benefits of this inversion table right away. My posture seems to be better and my lower back feels great now. I would definitely recommend this table to my friends.
Customer Review: No More Pain In The Neck Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
This is the first review I've done on Amazon to my recollection. This has been the best product I've ever used. I'm a healthy 36 year old but for years I struggled with upper neck pain near the base of the skull when I wake up. I like to sleep without a pillow; it's basically the only way I can sleep. But I've tried to switch from soft pillows to firm pillows and I never had much luck and usually woke up in pain. I got immediate results using this inversion table. I can sleep anyway I want now and wake up with NO PAIN AT ALL and my liver loves me now because I put the tylenol bottle away for good. There are a few drawbacks but it's for an inversion table itself and not for this one in particular. Expect a blood rush to the head, maybe a little feeling of pressure even in your lips and eyes on ocassion. I usually use it just a few minutes a day and am not bothered by that. The ankles holders can be uncomfortable. I found it best if I didn't wear any shoes or long pants as the rubber seems to snug better against skin. As a buyer I usually discount reviews unless they have some negative aspect in the review but there isn't much not to like a about this product and I have a new pain free lease on life with daily usuage. If I go a few days without using this the pain returns so I use it daily to decompress my spine. Enjoy it, it's well worth $120 esp with free shipping.
Customer Review: Easy to assemble and use Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
It was fairly straightforward to assemble this. Be careful with the canvas covering, though - it is very taut, and as we found out, it can easily be punctured - somehow we put a hole in it while assembling.
I have used this on a semi-regular basis since getting it. It is comfortable and easy to get on to. The foot holders feel very snug, I do not feel like there's any chance of me slipping out. A note on dismounting - come back up from being inverted, in phases, don't flip right back upright all at once. You can get a serious head rush or vertigo feeling that could last quite a while. For exmaple, if I invert for 5-7 minutes, I take at least 2-3 minutes to get back upright again.
This is a very well made and well balanced machine - I was quite surprised that all it takes to go from the starting point of being upright, to inversion, is to lift my arms up from my sides and bring them over my head. No effort at all is needed to get flipped over. We found that the height guide was pretty accurate as to where to set the foot holders, but we did have to tweak it a little bit to get it just right.
I am not sure if this has really helped my lower back problems at all yet, but that could be due to my inconsistent usage. My back definitely feels better when I am on it, though.
Customer Review: Comparing Ironman 1000 and ATS 1000 Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
I've owned both the ATS 1000 and this unit, Gravity 1000. The ATS 1000 is the better unit IF you can set it up and not move it. It is really heavy and hard to move around, but I do like the locking system which allows you to do inversion style crunches. Believe me, you'll exercise muscles in the stomach like you never can any other way, but you probably need to be very young to utilize this function. It was too much for this old man and I used it like any other inversion machine. It was simply too heavy to move, which I really needed so I used the option to return it from the store within 90 days.
Both my wife and I suffer from back pain especially from overexercising. So when the back stiffness and pain returned I ordered this Gravity 1000 from Amazon. While the specs may indicate that it is not as good as the ATS 1000, don't believe it. In fact, both the wife and I prefer it. It is very solid, but not as heavy as the first unit. It folds much easier and moves around the house or outside. Okay, it doesn't lock like the ATS system, but that is not the primary function of an inversion table. It is easy to use, and we believe the foot locking function on this unit is better. This very basic unit is quite good for the price, and sometimes the adage is true: less is more.
