Description of Ironman Gravity 1000 Inversion Table

The IronmanŽ Endurance 100 inversion table is built with a strong steel frame and scratch-resistant powder-coated finish. It has a soft, foam-covered backrest for comfort when inverting, and extra-long safety handles provide easy return to the upright position.
Whether you want to reduce back stress or fatigue or stimulate your blood circulation, the Ironman Gravity 1000 inversion table makes a great household accessory. The inversion table contributes to your body's overall health by optimizing lumbar traction, thereby relieving pressure on your vertebrae discs and ligaments. And when your back starts to relax, the rest of your body follows. The table can also help with such areas as increasing body flexibility for improved athletic performance, reducing the effects of aging due to gravity, and relieving lower backaches due to sitting or standing.

The Gravity 1000 boasts a durable tubular steel frame with a scratch-resistant powder-coated finish. The backrest, meanwhile, is made of a tough nylon material that's extremely durable yet still comfortable when the table is in use. Most importantly, the inversion system is a breeze to use: once you rest your body against the nylon backrest and slip your feet into the ergonomically molded ankle cushions, simply reach your arms over your head. As your arms go up, your body gradually inverts up to 90 degrees. The only inputs are your energy and gravity itself.

Users will also appreciate the tough rubber non-skid floor stabilizers, which keep the table stable while you invert, and the extra-long safety handles, which provide an easy return to an upright position. Other details include a height-adjustable frame up to 6 feet 6 inches; support for up to 300 pounds; vinyl safety side covers to protect hands and fingers; and a durable spring-loaded ankle locking system. The Gravity 1000, which folds into a compact footprint for easy storage, measures 25 by 62 by 49 inches (W x H x D) and weighs 46 pounds.

Sports reviews of Ironman Gravity 1000 Inversion Table

Customer Review: Believer
Sport shop rating: 5 Stars

My back problems follow a pretty consistent pattern. Too much golf or yardwork, and something zips in my back. The next 3 or four days I am a pretzel and then the disc slips and the limping begins. This can last for many weeks at a time and is excrutiating. I bought an inversion table at the urging of some friends but I did not have high hopes. I have always laid my faith in scientific research and studies and there didn't seem to be any substatial proof that these things work except for the short time you're on it; so I was a skeptic. I must say as skeptical as I am I am having a hard time believing that this is not the best therapy option available on the market today (including PT.) There is no disputing that this provides instant relief when you are on it- the question is whether or not the benefits last after you step off. I'm now a firm believer that they do. After a bad injury to my back that left me barely able to walk, I stretched on the bench twice a day and I experienced such a rapid recovery that I found myself completely convinced. 4 days later I am walking straight again and the pain is 90% gone. And most importantly the pain stayed out of my leg this time. Could it be that I didn't injure my back as badly this time? I think I did but it's hard to make a case either way either way which is why it's going to be difficult for any medical professional or scientific study to prove or disprove the benefits. The next best thing is to trust the experiences of those who suffer from chronic back injuries and use the table. I'll add my positive recommendation to that list.
If nothing else, and any doctor will agree with me, for $150 you get something that for however brief a time can completely relieve your back pain while you are on it. Anyone in my league of back pain knows what a gift that can be.

Customer Review: Solid table
Sport shop rating: 5 Stars

I've had this table for about 6 months now. It's very sturdy and great quality which is important if you're going to use this on a daily basis.

Assembly took about 1-1.5 hrs using the provided tools. It would be faster if you just use your own tools, but we were not in a hurry and took our time. Some other reviewers have stated that they've assembled this in less than 30 mins, but that's not practical(45 mins to an hour is more realistic if you use your own tools). Instructions are OK and this is pretty easy to setup especially if you have another person(or two) assisting you.

I've been using this for almost a year and is still sturdy and problem free. This does provide the user with a great back stretch, but i guess the results will vary depending on the user. The ankle clasps work as they should, but they will be more comfortable if your wear socks or shoes( especially if you are on the heavier side). The height adjustment is not always accurate and needs to be adjusted according to each persons weight distribution. Some might have to go an inch larger or smaller depending on this distribution.

Make sure to start with a smaller incline and increase it as your body gets use to it. You will probably feel strange when you initially begin, but this is go away within further use. Also, don't use this after eating or drinking...just use your common sense when you use it.

I suggest doing a routine check on a monthly basis and tighten any loose bolts. Overall, this is a great basic inversion table that just last for years...as long as you assembled it properly and don't do anything crazy on it(you can't do sit-ups on this).

Customer Review: Fun, cost efficient, solid, FAST Shipping!

I am not mechanically inclined in the least bit, but I did get it assembled, balanced for my height, weight, and tested for my safety within 3 hours from box outside of house to setup in extra room. Instructions...(hey I am a man, I never read them)..but they did save me from making some mistakes with the pivot arms. (my tip: Install those on the board first and save a "hmmmm" moment). I used the safety strap. Had the setting to a moderate tilt (I had to raise my head to see my feet...quite a bit). Feeling is very enjoyable. I do feel refreshed like I have taken a nice brisk walk, but no noticeable back improvements (at least not on one initial use). I have bone spurs (Osteophytes) on the back and 2 discs one in the C spines and another between T and L spines that are buldging which inclues some nerve entrapment. No pain using it. It's fun. It's sturdy. (The foot attachments are as comfortable as can be. I do not agree with those who say they "hurt"). Not really a large footprint when assembled. So space is not a huge factor. It's the cheapest deal going. Shipping was ULTRA quick. 3 days total!!!!! Love it!

There are many reviews about the therapeutic benefits, and I will not address those. I can only say that it's a winning choice from the standpoint of ease of assembly, price, and it's plain fun and relaxing. I would (and already have) recommended it to friends and co-workers. "Ironman products" are simply a well respected name. I had no hesitation and no regrets purchasing. Amazon shipped it to me in 3 days under the free super saver option!!!!! Now that is superb!!!!

Customer Review: Great Product and Price.

I have had the Inversion Table for about 4 days. Thanks for all the other reviews.
Amazon rocks for hosting everyones reviews and selling a wide variety of products at excellent prices.

I tweaked my lower back in January and have been trying to get back to 100% since then. I'm 40 years old, 220Lbs. 6'3". Race motorcycles off road for fun and play ice hockey, I also have my 3 little kids im always chasing around and lifting up. Not to mention lifting stuff at work all the time, I'm a mechanic.

I have done the stretching, back exercises, chiropractor, 800 milligrams of Ibuprofen, muscle relaxers, rest, etc.

Between doing the exersises and using this table I think my back will be 100% in
a few more weeks.

I have only used it 3 times but there is a big improvement in the way my back feels. I do have sciatic pain and the table has helped with that as well.

The table is really solid and was simple to put together. Took me less than 1 hour by myself.

As noted in other reviews of this table, put on some over the ankle work boots or hiking boots when using the table. I was excited to give the table a try and used it with sneakers and low cut socks the first time, I ended up with a small cut on my left ankle (My fault for not putting on some boots).

You could not buy the materials to build this table for $300.00, one thing we can
thank China for.

If you decide to buy this table you will not be disappointed.

Customer Review: Really helps our back pain
Sport shop rating: 5 Stars

It does take up a lot of space, but if you have the space it is worth it. We don't fold it up so I don't know how easy or difficult it is to do that.
We chose this one because it was the only one that would ship for free to Hawaii. After getting the box I don't know how they can offer free shipping on something so large and heavy, but we are thrilled that they did.

My husband is a jeweler and works daily at a bench doing engraving, stone setting and the like. Not the kind of back pain you'd get from heavy lifting, but pain nonetheless. Probably similar to other desk jobs, where you may not practice the best posture. And with certain jobs, his shoulders and upper back muscles remain pretty tense.

He uses the table for about 5 minutes at a time, sometimes twice a day, 4 or 5 days a week. He's had terrific results with reduction of pain in his lower back and several people have commented that he is standing up straighter. His whole back is not tense like it used to be.

I have some occasional lower back pain (usually on one side) as well as sciatica. Most of my back pain is a result of carrying a toddler around on my hip so if I'm carrying him more often, I have more pain. I only use the table 1-2 times a week and it helps completely.

It is easy to adjust the height (changing from one person to another).
The ankle supports are uncomfortable if we're not wearing shoes or long pants. With shoes on we have no problem with the ankle supports.
