Sports reviews of InStep Suburban Swivel Wheel Jogging StrollerCustomer Review: Great product, great price Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
I bought this stroller at half the original price, It needed to be assembled but came with all the necessary tools to put it together. It didn't take long to assemble. It's easy to fold up and the back wheels come off to fit it in smaller trunks like mine. My 2 year old and I love it!
Customer Review: Rocks! Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
Being a military family living overseas we walk everywhere! The terrain here is not the greatest and most strollers can't handle it. This one is SO worth EVERYTHING!!! My son loves it! I walk to post everyday to run errands, get groceries etc... Holds up perfectly!
Customer Review: Great Jogging Stroller for the price Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
Love this stroller. I spent a lot of time comparing and pricing jogging strollers and I don't think you can find a better deal. Very easy to assemble and works great. I did purchase a sun shade for it because it does not provide much protection from the sun.
Customer Review: Great stroller for the price!! Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
I purchased this item after reading several reviews. It is a great stroller for the price! Easy to fold back up and comfortable for the kids. I truly enjoy all the compartment space!
Customer Review: great for the price Sport shop rating: 4 Stars
This is one of the cheapest three-wheel strollers on the market, so it doesn't have a lot of bells and whistles. It does, however, have wheels big enough to deal with uneven sidewalks, poorly shoveled snow, and tree roots. It has a wonderful turning radius, is easy to steer with one hand, and the seat easily adjusts high enough that my son can see what's going on around him and low enough that he can nap.
Given that i'm a huge fan of this stroller, here are some reasons you should NOT buy it, if they're going to trouble you:
1) This is not a jogging stroller. It wobbles a little at walking speed, and more the faster you go. If you're going to jog, spend more and get something sturdier. (This is GREAT walking stroller. If you're just walking, this won't disappoint.)
1a) Some of the blurbs say this comes with a wrist tether for jogging. It doesn't.
2) The child restraint is annoying. The clip is really stiff, so unstrapping the baby can be a challenge. Also, you can't click in one side and then the other. You have to make your kid hold still long enough to put both shoulder/side straps into the buckle at the same time. The crotch-strap is a little short, i often have to hike it up to latch everything. Also annoying. (None of this is troublesome once assembled.)
3) By 'folds flat' they really mean 'folds into a large, clunky triangle'. Getting this stroller into the trunk of a compact car probably requires gymnastics or divine intervention. It fits just fine in our hatch-back, but takes up most of the cargo space.
4) You can't launder the seat
4a) And when the stroller is folded, the seat is on the outside, so it can get awfully dirty awfully quickly.
5) The handle is narrower than the frame for some reason, so i feel slightly bunched up when pushing it.
6) The sun/rain shade is a total waste of space. I have yet to be in a situation where the fold-out canopy could actually shield my child from the sun. The only use i have found for it so far is covering him when we pass under an overpass which hosts many pigeons, lest the pigeons take up target practice.
7) I'd rather have spent $5 less on this and not gotten the useless, impossible-to-use bug netting.
8) The wheels squeak. A lot. (WD-40 fixes it after a few applications.)
9) It's back-heavy when empty, so don't be surprised if it flips up after you take your kid out if you have a heavy drink in the cup holder. It's absolutely perfectly and completely stable when there's a child in the seat, so don't worry about that.
10) It's nearly impossible to adjust the shoulder straps. There are no directions provided on how to, but it's the same arrangement as many other strollers i've seen. However, forcing the clip through the tiny slot in the plywood backing of the seat will more likely break your fingernails than actually succeed.
11) You have to remove the child tray to put the kid in or take the kid out of the stroller, there's no swing hinge or anything to provide simpler access.
If you can deal with those, this stroller is a great deal. I have no regrets about purchasing it, and delight in my ability to walk to the grocery store without having to haul the stroller over every uneven bit of sidewalk. (12-inch wheels are more than twice as good as six-inch wheels.)
