Customer Review: Dissapointing

My daughter got this for Christmas. First, it is labled for 8 yo & older. I disagree. It starts so fast that jerks the rider and is very dangerous. Even after warning my 8yo she still wiped out on her 1st try. After 10 min or so, she did get the hang of it, but with me running next to her holding her shirt and her only turning the throttle every 5 second. After 10 min the scooter stopped working. I assumed that the battery may not have been charged all the way, so I plugged it back in over night. The next morning...even though the charger light was green indicating that the scooter was charged, it would not work. Not even a little movement. I called the company (was on hold for 45min before I got thru). I was told that my battery was made in Feb 2007 and was already considered "old" and that I should take the battery out and take it to an AutoZone and have them test it. If it was not holding a charge, I should call back and they would send me a new on. I don't think so. I returned it and got my money back. Evidently, the batter needs replaced every 6 - 12 months.
