This is my third yoga mat, and if it ever does wear out, I'll buy the same product. First mat was standard sticky (1/8" thick). I didn't want to spend much. It was pretty good, but I needed more cushioning. So I bought a thicker one of the same material. I liked it but wore it out quick. I kept seeing this mat in the Hugger Mugger catalog and finally bit. This mat is as tough as a tire, but will provide cushion and support. It's heavier than a sticky mat; I really wouldn't want to have to carry it around the city. Wipes down well. I've had this mat for 3 or 4 years and it's still in excellent condition. I use it at least 4 times a week for yoga, pilates, and balance ball workouts.Customer Review: great mat for the "serious" yogini

This is a great yoga mat. I was looking to "upgrade" my yoga mat to something a bit more substantial than what I had. I had decided on the Mandara Mat and found that Amazon had the best price. I was concerned that practicing on a thicker mat would make balancing postures more difficult; however, the thickness is very dense and, if anything, has made my practice more enjoyable. The only downside to the mat is the weight. It is quite heavy and bulky and does not fit in the mat bag I currently have. Regardless, I am very pleased and would highly recommend this mat for students and teachers alike. Customer Review: Very nice!

I'm relatively new to yoga but practice quite often. Our health club uses these mats and they have been very good. So I bought one and have used it for a month and it is everything I want - not slippery, no bad smell and good length.Customer Review: good mat, can be slick

I bought this mat because I wanted a good quality mat that would last a long time, so I was ok with paying a bit more than I saw the majority of the mats going for. I like the larger size of this mat, compared with slimmer ones in the past, and the thickness is great, it absorbs a lot of the hardness of the ground. I use it both for power ashtanga yoga and more relaxing hatha practices, so it gets a pretty all-around use. my only complaint is that it had an oily texture when it arrived, and even still will become slick during a hot session which can be quite annoying (I suppose it could be remedied with a yoga towel). this is becoming less of an issue as time goes on, but is a pain after purchasing a more expensive mat. so, I guess I would definitely suggest it for a mellower practice, but I would not endorse it for anything that would cause a lot of heat (and sweat) to be generated, at least not without towel use.Customer Review: No complaints, awesome mat

This mat is thick, comfortable, sticky, and easy to clean. I have no complaints whatsoever. I am considering buying another one so that I can use cross mats. Oh, and no this mat is not the least bit heavy to lug around. If 6 pounds feels heavy to you, try working out with some ten pound dumbbells in addition to your yoga. I love this mat.
