These hand warmers are just wonderful. I have used them for a few years and always keep a few in my purse during the winter months. I have given them to senior citizens that I have seen waiting for a bus and they were so grateful. I also gave a box to my Eye Dr. to give to patients awaiting laser surgery. It is amazing how comforting having a warmer in you hands when you are nervous. Great product. Cannot imagine life without them. They are also great for children traveling on school buses. These are fantastic little warmers that work fast and really do last up to 8 hours. It is a simple chemical reaction (charcoal, iron powder, vermiculate) inside the packet that reacts with oxygen (air). It is very useful for immediate warm-ups when out in the cold. They are also very useful for after skiing in the gloves or boots, but be warned that warming your gloves or boots can cause sweating which will make you even colder. These work as advertised. I suffer from cold hands even in temperatures that most people it would not bother. In very cold temperatures it is a real problem for me. A pair of these opened, shaken up and placed in my gloves or mittens keeps my hands nice and warm for hours.
Keep in mind that they do not last forever in the package so plan to use them the first year. I found a couple of packets (different brand, same thing though) that were a few years old but unopened. They did not work near as well as when new.

After years of painfully cold fingers (Raynaud's Syndrome) I splurged on a full box of these hand warmers and, so far, have been really happy. Usually my fingers are cold inside the house, so putting these "hot potatoes" into my mittens, heading into the cold, and not noticing my fingers freezing has been nothing short of a life-changing event for me. I love walking in the snow and now am able to enjoy it. They sometimes get (almost) too warm. I also love the toe warmers, which have made walking in the cold a lot more fun.Customer Review: very good product at very reasonable price

I bought this product to keep my daughter's hands warm before musical auditions. It works very well. It can be used with or without gloves/mittens. One problems with the glove/mitten-only approach is that the hands sometimes get sweaty. That doesn't help when you need to have precision and speed in playing your instrument. Hothands solves this problem pretty well. Once unsealed, it lasts longer than similar products from other brands. The price is very good and the stuff keeps for a long time as long as it is sealed.
