The bandanas have special polymer beads that are sewn into them, and when soaked in water for 15-20 minutes the polymer absorbs the water and expand to over 100 times their original size. These bandanas have been a huge help getting me through the record heat we have had in the midwest this summer. Simple to activate and long lasting cool! They really do what they say they will. My only suggestion is to activate them and let them hang dry at least once before using since they do fade a little. Neat product and awesome service. I am a happy camper!Customer Review: Bandannas

First of all, these are not shaped like a typical bandana. But, they do puff up with water and stay wet for days. Be careful, they do get stinky if you don't let them air out. But don't expect them to get completely dry.Customer Review: nice product

I purchased this product to use at Disneyland. When we used it the weather was in the high 90's and very, very dry. The bandanas helped to keep us somewhat more comfortable but the air was so hot and dry it was sometimes hard to tell whether the bandanas are cool or not. I used it around my neck and my husband and son wrapped it around their foreheads. I did not like the beads shifting inside the bandana; they do not fill the space completely and would move depending on how you place the bandana. I have not tried to dry them out yet so would not know if they'll work again. Overall, I am happy with my decision to purchase them for my Disney trip but in retrospect a spray bottle with a fan attachment would probably work better to cool us off.
