These straps are a little short for my liking and as far as comfort, they definitely are stiff. Until you break them in they will be a little uncomfortable. I threw mine in the washer and dryer (with a dryer pad) and that seemed to help. The other thing I recommend is massaging the straps between sets (i.e. take them off and crunch them in your hands). This will help break them in as well.
