Description of Harbinger 1250 Training Grip WristWrap Glove

Specifically designed for men, this pair of Harbinger training grip gloves is ideal for frequent lifters and all-around weight trainers. The gloves are distinguished by a set of TechGel? comfort pads, which mold comfortably to your hands to protect them from the stresses of active training. The unique Comfort Tech fabrics, meanwhile, remain supple and comfortable even after cleaning. And lifters will love the patented WristWrap® technology, which improves a lifter's ability to lift heavier amounts of weight over a longer period of time by maximizing comfort and support. A final detail includes extended fingers to maximize hand protection. Note: the gloves should be hand washed to remove salt and oils and preserve the original fit.

Customer Review: Harbinger 1250 is losing it's quality
Sport shop rating: 3 Stars

I have used Harbinger wrist wrap's (1250) for many, many years and will continue to do so. But the fact remains the quality is not nearly what it used to be. I work out 5 days a week and I rotate 3 pair of Harbinger 1250's so I never use one pair more than twice a week. Years ago a pair would last several months with minimal wear, now within 1 month the leather wears down to the point that the barbells actually slip from the glove, this has been happening for a good year and never happened previously. Most likely they are using a lower grade of leather. Insterad of buying a new pair every 6 months it's now every 3. But my options are limited....

Customer Review: Feels good but a little too big
Sport shop rating: 3 Stars

The gloves are perfect. The wristwrap is a little too big for the size of this glove. I feel it could perform better with a smaller wrist wrap. The material is breathable, but sometimes it seems like it's not breathable enough.

I used the Harbinger Big Grip II WW before this and hated it because it's too bulky and one can barely grip anything inside that glove. But the breathability on the Big Grip was better than this one.

This one performs better overall, so here goes my 3 stars.

Customer Review: poor manufacturing
Sport shop rating: 2 Stars

i quess it's hard to find a quality made product (except for my own at: [...] ) anyway, the size was good, and the colors are nice, but for someone's who's been lifting for 10+ years now, i can't beleive the finger seams are coming apart AFTER ONLY 2 TRIPS TO THE GYM! Harbinger makes good straps, but that's all..i will repost when these totally fall apart- i go to crush it 5-6 days a week...so maybe see you soon!

Customer Review: Not comfortable, poor design, sizing chart way off.
Sport shop rating: 1 Stars

I have been lifting for years now and owned numerous pairs of gloves, naturally they wear out. While these gloves are very well built the overall design is flawed and uncomfortable.

Pros:
Lots of cushion everywhere
Wrap around provides good wrist support
Styling is good, look nice

Cons:
Gloves have so much cushion you can barely close your hand around the pull up bar or weights, not a good kind of cushion, way too much.
I measured my hand to figure out the correct size as instructed and bought according to the sizing chart. While it fit my palm ok, the gloves were way too long for my fingers and way too much cushion. I don't have odd hands and i've never seen this problem before with any other brand. My pinky actually disappears in the glove when gripping the bar. I had to cut a half inch off the fingers in order to make them fit. Problem now of course is sharp edges and the huge variation from padded gloves to bare fingers makes them unusable.

I have learned my lesson buying harbinger gloves, they were expensive and not even remotely worth it. This isn't the first time either. I have bought them in the past, same exact problem. Bulky, uncomfortable and didnt fit right and thanks to the excessive cushion it eliminates so much feeling especially when doing the bench press with heavy weight it makes it dangerous.

They need to do a bit more research on what makes a weight lifting gloves good while not going over kill and ruining the point, add gripping ability, cushion the hand from heavy weight, prevent calluses and keep your hands dry. All while adding control and comfort. As the saying goes, they should fit you like a glove and become part of your hand, so you can lift longer with heavier weight without destroying your hands. These feel like a big mess and all you want to do is take them off.

I was hoping to get used to them to break them in, I couldn't stand them. I went back to my old gloves that are falling apart.

Customer Review: BAD QUALITY GLOVES
Sport shop rating: 1 Stars

I got these gloves as a gift in October of 2006 and started using them in November 2006. In September of 2007 with only 10 months of use they developed a hole by the seem where the thumb meets the palm of the hand. I used them 3 times a week on normal relatively new Olympic weight bars. Same usage with Valeo and they lasted me 3 years. When I contacted Harbinger they failed to respond to me basically telling me tough luck. I would STAY AWAY from their gloves since they don't last and they will not back them if they don't. YOU WILL LOSE MONEY ON THESE IF YOU BUY THEM!!!!!!
