I started using my German Shepherds to pull me on a bicycle and immediately decided I ought to get harnesses rather than having them pull from the collar. This one looked like the best deal, it arrived quickly and the quality looks nice especially for the lower price. BUT even though I measured my dogs exactly like their web site said to, it is totally too small for the dog I ordered it for and barely makes the first buckle hole on the dog that is 4" thinner than the one I sized it for ... my idea of course was to just buy one and see how it was before buying the second ... I was hoping that there was enough take up that it might work for both dogs too ... I have to return it now and get the right sizes for both of them ... problem is though, is this one a fluke? Should I add 6" to the dog's girth rather than the 2" they say to? With the other brand listed on Amazon people are complaining that the harnesses are too BIG so I can't have confidence if I payed more and switched brand next time! Very frustrating ... I'm telling my dogs now "sorry guys, no harnesses yet so no awesome bike rides for you" dang!! Oh yeah and it was tagged the exact size I ordered but the instruction on the tag is WAY WAY wrong! It says "measure around NECK and add 2"! That would give you a teensy harness because the harness strap goes around the TORSO not the neck! Their web site says to measure around chest behind the legs and 2" ... It's looking like someone at their factory is screwing up big time and there is not adequate QC to catch trouble. I'll update when I see what they do to fix the problem.

Description of Hamilton Padded Pulling Harness for Dog, Black, Sizes: 28" to 46"

This is a Hamilton Padded Nylon Pulling Harness. It is made of the highest quality duarable nylon webbing, thread, and hardware. The breast strap is 1 3/4" wide heavy duty 2-ply padded nylon, and includes two 1 1/2" D-rings, one at each end. The remainder of the harness is made of 1" wide heavy duty 1-ply nylon. The breast strap and back are both sheepskin padded. All materials are stitched, and box stitched ensuring a long, dependable life. Includes nickel plated tongue buckle and D-rings. A 1 1/2" D-ring is provided for a standard lead. Adjustable chest strap. Available sizes: 28", 30", 32", 34", 36", 38", 40", 42", 44" & 46". Using a string or cloth measuring tape, measure around the dog's chest, just behind the legs. Add 2" to that measurement for the proper harness size. Color is black.
