This simple device is excellent. I've used it for a number of years on 32 ounce Nalgene bottles in temperatures ranging from 15 to 95 degrees Fahrenheit and it has always worked well. The soft flexible construction of this device is far superior to the hard plastic inserts (from other manufacturers) that I've also purchased. It is surprisingly durable; I've used a single insert for at least four years, and it has survived countless day-hikes on the Appalachian Trail and has been to the summit of Kilimanjaro.
Because I carry 2-3 liters of water when I hike, I've simply swapped it between bottles, so still own only one SplashGuard. A quick rinse with warm soap and water after a hike, and it's ready to go again.
