The GoFit Chin Up Bar is a great addition to your at home training program. Not only is the bar perfect for chin-ups, its can also be used as a foot anchor for sit-ups and crunches. The GoFit Chin-Up bar will adjust to fit most standard width doorframes. The bar easily supports up to 250 pounds of weight when mounted properly. Comfortable foam grips are secured to the bar to minimize hand fatigue. Includes mounting hardware. Like all of the other people here, I bought this bar and it has performed magnificently. $15 is ridiculously cheap for the high build quality of this item, but **BEWARE**.
******* DO NOT USE THIS ITEM WITHOUT THE BRACKETS ******, no matter how strong you think it is.
I am approximately 165lbs teenager and was using the bar sporadically throughout the day just for fun. Again, I hung this WITHOUT the brackets, which I learned to regret.
One time when I was pulling myself up, the bar fell broke off and fell, leading me to land party on my back and neck.
I immediately got back up like nothing happened, but the next day my back and neck are experiencing shrieking pain.
The use of brackets is not only recommended, but required. It takes only a few minutes!!

I shopped around and read a lot of reviews before deciding on this bar. I am so glad I got it, and have been very impressed. I bought it so my daughter could practice her gymnastics, and she loves it!
Pros:
Easy installation
2 sets of brackets, for two different heights (and both are weight-bearing)
Pads are completely removable (even my 5-yr-old can put them on)
Very sturdy (holds my 200-lb husband no problem, and my kids swinging on it)
Cons:
Bar is very difficult to get in and out of the brackets. It has latches that "lock" it into place, so it is very sturdy and reliable, but can be very hard to get out, once it's locked into place. If you are planning on moving it high and low a lot, you might want to buy two, since it is so reasonably priced.

Previous reviews were good; based on them I made my purchase and was not disappointed. Actually, I was pleasantly surprised. Drilled a couple hole, installed it and was using it right away. I almost screwed up and over-tighten as the direction warned me not to do: DO NOT OVER-TIGHTEN! I barely was able to loosen mine back up to test out the lower installation for sit-ups, but I've decided it was not worth it as I've discovered bicycle crunches which are much better on your body and a work out that is much more rewarding.
Using it everyday (well, almost) and am my upper body strength is significantly improving. I highly recommend this item for it's quality and price.

Great price and very easy to mount. I liked the fact that it simply had two metal cups that you had to place on your door to put the bar into. Rather than bore you all with too much detail I suggest reading the other reviews. Follow the directions and you will have no problems.
Plus: The is a good chin up bar for the money. Works great for pull ups and chin ups.
Minus: Although I haven't tried it I think there may be some problems if you used this for push-ups. It doesn't seem designed for it, and I wouldn't be about to try it. Some other bars will do all three. Personally I just like the idea of leaving it in the one position.

I like heavy duty items that last and this item is like that. Its heavy duty in solid. im 210 lbs in shape person that likes to do chin ups,but also to hang from it upside down with inversion boots (Not sold anymore) to stretch my vertibrae. Very Safe easy assembled and easy to put the bar in and lock in and unlock and release to take out in seconds. And the delivery was very fast..i ordered a few things that day and this bar was the first to get to me..the only thing that was negative was the delivery charge- $11.97 and the price of the item was only $19.99 thats kind of steep to charge over half the price of the item to get it delivered.
