Giro's Mini-Loc fit system features simple strap guides. | Fitting a Helmet Here are some guidelines to getting the best fit for a bike helmet. - Eyes: The rim of the helmet should be up to 1 to 2 finger widths above the eyebrows
- Ears: The straps should form a V under just beneath the ear lobe
- Mouth: When the rider opens her mouth, the buckle should feel snug on the chin and the helmet should hug the head
Before using the helmet, stand in front of the mirror and grab the helmet with both hands and twist it to the left and to the right. If the helmet fits right, the skin on the forehead will move as the helmet moves. If it does not, then the helmet is too loose and is unsafe for use and you need to start over. About Giro Working late nights in his garage, designer/bike racer Jim Gentes created the first lightweight adult cycling helmet in 1985. Friends at NASA helped tune the final helmet shape and vent placement, and the result was the Giro Prolight, a helmet that was better looking than traditional designs while offering a superior fit and still met the industry's toughest safety standards. Plus, it was half the weight of traditional helmets. Since then, Giro has advanced its helmets, many of which have set the standards for styling, function, and innovation for progressive, performance-oriented riders on dirt, pavement, and snow. Giro helmets are worn by millions of riders, cyclists, skiers, and snowboarders around the world. Young-bloods and old-timers; hard-cores, heshers, and hipsters; rookies, experts, and a few regular Joes too--in fact, pretty much anyone that appreciates superior fit and function, cutting edge styling, and the very best ideas you get in a helmet.
Sports reviews of Giro Me2 Infant Bike HelmetCustomer Review: great helmet Sport shop rating: 4 Stars
This is a great helmet for small toddlers. My son is 16 months old and all the helmets at target and walmart were for 3+. Initially my son didn't want it on his head but as soon as I put him on the bike seat he doesn't mind me strapping it on. I would give it a five but the straps are hard to adjust and they seem to squish his ears - but he doesn't seem to mind. great helmet!
Customer Review: Better than the generic kids helmet Sport shop rating: 4 Stars
We tried a Walmart helmet and couldn't get our daughter to wear it long enough to get it adjusted. The adjuster on this helmet is so quick we had no trouble and it fits well. (18 months old at time of purchase)
Covers back of head better than some of the others too.
Customer Review: Great helmet. It's still a little 'baggy' though Sport shop rating: 4 Stars
Even though my little on meets the minimum head size it still seems a little baggy. maybe head shape has something to do with it. I love it any way. It's a great quality helmet. i look forward to using it for years to come.
Customer Review: Will not fit if you have a wide head, even if it falls in the given measurements. Sport shop rating: 3 Stars
I took measurements of my son's head before ordering, so I knew he fell within the size range...but the shape of the helmet did not match the shape of my son's head. As an infant he had an issue with skull growth, which necessitated the use of a helmet to round out his head. It worked wonderfully, but my son's head is still a bit more round at the temples which, even though his measurements still fell in between the stated 49-52cm, it didn't even fit on his head. So unfortunately we are sending it back.
Customer Review: Not pleased Sport shop rating: 2 Stars
We bought this helmet for our 10 month old who rides in the kiddy seat behind my bike. When she leans back, the helmet flops down over her face like a face mask. It doesn't matter how tight we squeeze it, it's just never comfortable and always ends up over her face. We think this has to be more dangerous than riding without a helmet at all. We've looked into other companies and nobody seems to make a helmet designed to work well with child seats
