Special Note:
For optimal performance, it may be necessary to re-inflate your new Balance Ball once or twice after the initial inflation. Once your chair is assembled and the Balance Ball is inflated, re-check the ball size the next day. If necessary, add additional air and check once more the following day. Your new Balance Ball may need a day or two to "stretch" to its final size (which should then fit perfectly in the base).

I have some pretty serious back problems which are compounded by a 3 hour (back and forth) commute and sitting at a desk for 95% of my day. I was introduced to a stability ball, and although it aligned my back while sitting at my desk, I was "locked" in to one position and it bothered me. A friend told me about the balance ball chair with casters and said it was not terribly expensive. I looked on line the very next day and ordered the chair. I've been using the chair for 2 months now and I love it. My back feels better, my core seems stronger and I can move around my office with ease. After several weeks using the chair, I notice an improvement in my posture (wherever I sit or stand).
If this is for your office, you might want to start out using the chair only a few hours a day to build up muscle tone without over doing it (especially if you have a weak lower back like I did). After a few weeks, I went to sitting in the chair all day.
I also love the suggested stretches (in directions).
Finally, read the simple directions. You should not be leaning your back against the back of this chair. Make sure height(inflation) is adjusted correctly.

I sit at least 8 hrs a day and my back is always killing me. I am not a working out type of girl but I had heard great things about this type of chair and now I have great things to say too. My back is sore, but in a good way in a I am using the muscles type of way. I have more energy and have been more motivated at work...all because of good posture. I know it sounds crazy and my co-workers think I am nuts but its true, it makes me feel better and stronger in my core. Also my butt doesn't hurt like it did in my old chair. I bought this chair because I have been having sciatica for the past few months (after a knee injury). I sit all day at work and wanted to give this chair a try. It does take some getting used to (for me about 1 week). After sitting in it for about one week, I switched back to a regular chair (not a very good one), and my pain began to worsen after just a couple of hours. I have found this chair to be a great relief to the "butt pressure" felt from sitting at a desk all day. I am looking to get a good quality "regular" desk chair to trade off with. I received my Balance Ball chair very promptly, in fact earlier than expected. It was quite easy to put together. The only problem I had was pumping air into the ball. The pump worked well but you really have to move fast when you take the pump spout out of the ball and put the plug in. I didn't quite make it and had to reinsert it and pump more air in. I have not done any exercises with it yet but I ordered it really for posture improvement. I had been having some back and neck discomfort with my old regular chair at the computer and this has certainly helped. I am so glad I got it.
