I keep this little baby on my keychain wherever I go. It's a survival tool that packs a punch. It's waterproof, can be heard from like a mile away, and requires very little breath behind it. I first used one when I found one in my mother's glove compartment, next to things she was taking with to work. My mother is a high-ranking law enforcement officer who works within the California State correctional system. This is what they use against the inmates and this is also what helps save their lives when they are in distress situations. I read somewhere that wilderness survival expert Doug Ritter always carries one of these with him wherever he goes. As a football referee, I needed a whistle that will cut through the loudest crowd noise. No other whistle does it quite like the Fox 40. It has a shrill, piercing sound at 115 decibels. The problem came with me chewing through my whistles. When Fox 40 came out with their CMG whistle this problem was corrected. This is the most comfortable whistle I've used. How many times have you crunched thru your whistle and played the game wondering if you swallowed the little pieces that broke off, let alone if you are going to chip a tooth... This is the most comfortable whistle going.
