I bought this pad for my dog to use in the tent when camping. I got the idea from someone else on the internet. My dog needs a place to sleep that is insulated from the cold tent floor. It is a good buy but awkward and difficult to pack. I carried outside of my backpack. It does insulate from the cold and dampness. It can be cut easily if you want less bulk. I have used it one time camping. It is easily damaged by fingernails or dognails. My dog liked laying on it. I would assume it would work the same for humans but I use a nice Thermarest for myself.
