Sports reviews of Fenix PD30 Level High Performance Cree LED FlashlightCustomer Review: Permanently attached to my husband's waist Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
I bought this for my hubby for Christmas (in lieu of an overpriced SureFire). He loves this flashlight and is very proud of it. He's carried it on his hip every single day since the day I gave it to him. We can light up the treetops from the ground, and we're able to spotlight our neighbor's deck from our deck (which really freaked our neighbor out the first time we did it. Of course it didn't help that my husband yelled "FREEZE!" at him).
We went over the other reviews, and his opinion is that the "half button push" to change the mode isn't a problem and that you'd have to be an idiot not to be able to figure it out (his words, not mine). The only complaint that I might have is that I had to go to Batteries Plus to get batteries for it (WalMart, KMart, & several other places don't carry 123A), and they're not cheap. But this is a non-issue as far as we're concerned.
Customer Review: Love it and is a great gift. Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
This is the 2nd PD30 I bought. This one is for my dad. This easily blows away any maglite I have ever had (3D and 4D) yet is small enough to keep in my back pocket next to my wallet. For those of you afraid that CR123a batteries are expensive, you can buy tenergy's for about a dollar/piece online. all of the low modes are enough for everything in and around the house---the high mode is super-bright but really only used when showing off or spotting things in the distance. this thing can shine all the way down my street. I bought my first one because it can get into tight spots unlike the huge maglite. I highly recommend this to anyone who fixes stuff around the house, camps, repairs their car. also the cr123 batteries have a much longer shelf life, so the light won't be dead if you leave it in a drawer for a long time.
Customer Review: Amazing Light! Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
I bought this light based on the youtube reviews of nutnfancy and couldn't be more impressed. This light does everything you need a light to do and more. It has extra features that don't get in your way (which was a problem with other lights). If you need to know more just watch nutnfancy and you'll see why these lights are just as good if not better then the ridiculously over priced surefire brand.
This light is bright enough on its lowest setting for most tasks but when you need it for a hard task like finding a tiny screw on your lawn in the middle of the night (does that ever happen? just an example...), the brighter settings will make pitch-black daytime again. I highly recommend this light!
Customer Review: Changing my review Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
"I ordered the light because I currently have a 100 lumens light and wanted something brighter. Well I do like the features of the Fenix, I just don't see 220 lumens, my 100 lumens is just as bright. I am using it correctly and understand twisting the bezel puts it in turbo mode. Maybe it's just a dud, but doesn't meet my expectations. Feedback would be cool, I'm hoping this is just defective." <~~ original review.
After running a new set of batteries through a cycle I am impressed. I love the versatility of the light going from the light of a match to the light of a police helicopter trying to find you just by twisting the head of the light. I would get it now when it is still cheap.
Customer Review: Great all-purpose light Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
I got this flashlight for all-around use around the house and outdoor activities like hiking and biking. It's multi lumens modes makes it extremely versatile and the amount of light you can get out of such a small flashlight is just amazing...especially comparing it to my 3D cell Maglight. I suspect the one bad review was just someone who took it out of the box and turned it on expecting the full 215 lumens without reading the instructions. It always starts at the lowest setting and is easily and reliably changed by a quick press of the button while the light is on. I can't think of a reason not to get one of these...even though they are not cheap, you get what you pay for.
