I purchased the flashlight based on lumens and price, sure you can get slightly higher lumen lights but unless you are an active LEO, really how often are you going to need a high power light? As a retired LEO I have gone through my share of lights, I still have my orginal D cell Maglite, but for lumenation vs. price this is a good product. If does have different stages of lumenation from low to high that can be obtained by a quick tap of the rear On/Off switch. It does have a strobe, but it is weak and does not last long nor does it strobe fast enough to be a good defensive tool. The front bevel can be turned to change the device to a steady High beam when turn on as appose to the low to high system. It is light weight, small and easy to carry. I ordered the light with the batteries. If you need a stronger light or one with a faster strobe then I would recommend you seek something else, but overall it is a good light for the price.
