Overall, a great product. No doubt the brightest flashlight I own, and ounce for ounce, one of the brightest around. While total output exceeds my older, large 4D luggable, the Fenix does lack a focal point for long throw. I've used it both for camping and nightly walks with my dog and enjoyed it. Having confidence in a light I can get rained on or even dunked is nice. For someone with big hands, it's actually almost too small to use comfortably in my palm. The difference between "normal" and "turbo" is minimal, and for most applications, normal is fine. I actually prefer the low setting for anything not requiring detailed attention. Low is more than enough for reading books in the dark and walks along flat trails or lawns.
Construction seems sturdy, fit and finish are high. The box it came in doesn't look much better than a lot of products at the dollar store, but the actual product seems pretty good.
The drawbacks are few, but noticeable. Having to cycle through output levels to find the one you want (low in most cases) is frustrating, especially when you don't want to annoy (or wake) those around you. Sometime you'll accidentally rotate the lens, switching modes unintentionally. The strobe and SOS pulse levels are superfluous for most people. Additionally, the key-ring clip and holster are pretty much an either/or. It's impossible to quickly stow the light in the holster or extract it if you have the clip attached.

The Fenix P1D CE (Cree Edition) is a digitally controlled constant current multilevel flashlight Fenix has to offer. It has five modes: Primary -> Max -> Low -> Strobe Mode -> SOS Mode, which not only allows the user to select the best compromise between brightness and runtime for any given task but also has ability to aid in an emergency. The P1D CE does all this and still retains a very compact size. If you're looking for solid reliability, digitally regulated brightness, and compact size, this Fenix is for you. Features * Utilizes a Cree 7090 XR-E LED with a life of 50,000 hours * 5 Output Levels: 72 lumens (2.8hrs) -> 135 lumens (1hrs) -> 12 lumens (21hrs) -> Strobe -> SOS * Digitally Regulated for Constant Brightness * Uses one CR123A battery (not included) * 7.1cm (L) x 2.1cm (D) (or 2.8 in (L) x 0.8 in (D)) * Made of aircraft grade aluminum * Durable Type III hard anodized finish * 27-gram (or 1.0 oz) weight (excluding batteries) * Water-resistant (dunkable) * Toughened ultra clear glass lens with AR coating * Reliable twist switch * Capable of standing up securely on a flat surface to serve as a candle * Battery not included * Includes a holster, a lobster claw, and a spare o-ring Operation Turn the head of the flashlight clockwise to turn on the flashlight. A counter clockwise turn will then switch it off. To toggle between brightness levels, turn the light on, and then turn it off. Within 1.5 seconds after being turned off, twist the head on again and it will be switched to the next brightness level. Just do the same thing to switch it to the third stage and so forth. Keep the light off for over 1.5 seconds, and the light will turn completely off, and the regulative circuit will be restored.
