Fenix makes quality products. But like with all technologies, you need to keep up with the latest and greatest (in this case, LED technology). I've had this particular light for years and at the time it came out, it was magnificent. But nowadays you could probably get one dropped shipped from China that's twice as bright and half as expensive.Customer Review: Best Flashlight I've ever bought

This is the 1st Quality flashlight I've ever bought. I needed a small high powered flashlight for work. I was very impressed with the output of this unit. It is much brighter than I expected. I've had this for a few weeks and use it everyday and still on the 1st set of batteries...

I've had several high perforamnce LED falshlights this is a remarkable deal, 53 bucks and it compares to my $270.00 Sure fire U2. Great little light. Then of course you get a good quality smart AA NiMH charger and some powerex 2700 mh AA and you're good to go. I would not hestiate to recommend this light. Don't belive me... I've bought 3 of these Fenix Cree lights. All three were less then $60 a piece. I have a buddy with a pricey Surefire light and my Fenix puts it to shame. I own the 2 AA model, 1 CR 123, and 2 CR 123 lights and would strongly recomend all three. Very bright, run cool, and the strobe and SOS functions are a great feature.Customer Review: Title.

I like this light. It's bright. That's really all you need to know.
On the highest setting, it goes through batteries relatively quickly, and it also generates a bit of heat and makes a hissing sound from the head. I have been assured by Fenix that this is normal and not a problem.
