Customer Review: Incredibly effective tough piece of equipment

First, is this a good piece of equipment, and second, is it a good exercise?
This is a sturdy, stable, easy to assemble piece of equipment and gets 5 stars.
The exercise it provides is very tough. It works your entire core and you will feel it, as they say, in muscles you didn't know you had. It will work your abs, obliques, hip flexors, and very low in the back, especially where the spine enters the sacrum (I don't know what it is called). You will also work your shoulders and outer triceps.
My only warning is that you can generate lots of pressure on the shoulders and arms, and if you have rotator cuff problems, neck problems, etc. you may not be able to use this device. My only problem with this is that it sometimes leaves my shoulders sore, and not in a good way, but in a tweaked way.
To do the exercise, I lay out a tape measure along side where I will roll out, to assure consistency in the motion. Don't over extend. That is how you get injured. Do not try to imitate the videos on the web where the people use this like inch worms. I get a good core workout, without generating too much upper body pressure, between 36 - 40 inches starting from where my arms are perpendicular to the floor (I am 6'2"). You will need a mat or carpet to do it, and I need pillows under my knees. I do this once a week, as I still do crunches and back extensions once a week.
The first time I used it, I could do 2 sets of 3. After a few months, I can enjoyably do 4 sets of 8 (and push out a few more), and I can really see its effect on my gut, obliques and posture. I look stronger and stand straighter. This is probably the most effective piece of equipment you can buy under $20.
