Sports reviews of Everlast EverGel Hand Wraps

Customer Review: Convenient wraps!
Sport shop rating: 4 Stars

I think the problem that I've seen other people having in the reviews of these wraps is that these wraps look an awful lot like bag gloves with wrist wraps that are offered by other companies. Even though the package clearly says that these are handwraps (and says nothing about them being bag gloves) they still look like some other bag gloves. But as others have noted, they are not.

But they are a very nice set of handwraps! I used a pair of these inside a pair of Everlast bag gloves and they fit inside there perfectly and felt very comfortable and secure. And what a convenience not to have to go through the time and hassle of wrapping my hands just to get some time on the heavy bag!

So, I like them. I haven't had them for long enough to speak to durability, but I'll try them for awhile and perhaps post an update.

Customer Review: HANDWRAPS, NOT GLOVES
Sport shop rating: 4 Stars

as someone wrote before me a lot of people are making the mistake of using these as just boxing gloves when they are actually suppose to be a replacement to handwraps that go under the boxing gloves. as far as time saving goes they are great, i do mma so i switch between grapping and kickboxing a lot and the hand wraps always slowed me down and these took care of that. i would say they also provide almost, if not the same, amount of protection that handwraps do. although they are a little thicker then regular hand wraps i havent had any problems getting them into my gloves and using them, just a little different feeling to get use to. the only reason i dont give these a 5 is because i havent had them long enough yet to see how durable they are. but if you are looking for an easy fix to hand wraps like i was these are truly great

Customer Review: Good to Go
Sport shop rating: 4 Stars

I use these WRAPS under 16oz gloves, all the time and have no issues. The problem is people are reviewing them as a replacement for bag gloves or getting the wrong size for their hands. Your best bet as I saw in another review is to try some on in the store to find out what size is good to go. These are wraps NOT gloves. If the wrist strap is not covering above your wrist it's because you have the wrong size. These are great and are easy to get on and off. The only gripe is the cross straps should have a longer piece of pile material to secured them better.

Customer Review: Great padding, though lacking durability and stability
Sport shop rating: 3 Stars

Bought these handwraps about a month ago from a local store. First class they felt great as a beginner boxer, great padding while using full 16oz training gloves. The fact that it takes seconds to put them on and take them off makes it great for someone who doesn't know how to do wraps themselves. After a couple of weeks, the padding is still good but the wrist and hand stability are lacking as I've starting hitting harder. A couple of good hard sessions on the bags and my hands feel swollen and have some soreness. I don't know if this is due to my hitting style or if its due to the lack of stability in these speed wraps. After using the mexican style elastic wraps, I would not come back to these, the stability of the traditional wrap is far superior to these. The neoprene construction tore during a training session with plyometric conditioning. Bottom line: If you are a beginner, these are a good bet as they provide good padding for the break-in weeks of hitting a bag, but long term look into a 180" length handwrap for the durability and stability provided with a traditional wrap.

Customer Review: Nice cushioning, not sure will last very long
Sport shop rating: 3 Stars

I read reviews of a few different gloves and went to the store to try them on and get the best fitting ones. I didn't plan on buying this particular pair, but I purchased these because they were the only brand in stock which fit me. So far, they have worked well, but the stitching doesn't look very well done. There are vents in the palm which keeps the moisture down some. They are comfortable and provide good, sufficient cushioning for light bag work (i.e. a cardio-kickboxing class.) For serious heavy bag work, as other reviews have stated, these are only meant to substitute for hand wraps.
On sizing, I am a woman with small hands, and a men's medium fits me great. My husband, who has what are normally considered medium hands, says these are too small for him. Even if you buy them on-line for a better price, I definitely suggest trying them on in the store.
Overall, I am relatively satisfied. Depending on how long they last, I may or may not get a different brand next time.
