I grew up with sleds like this. Having children of my own now and having tried some of the American plastic versions of what is called a "sled" here, I will never use anything else again.
This sled is well-made, rides and pulls well (we added a string for a handle) and is easy and safe to steer. The plastic sleds we tried don't let you control where you are going, or how fast you are going, even turn in circles to where you end up going down the hill backwards...
With a sled like this, you have total control of where you are going and how fast, and you will always be facing forward.

Measuring 37 by 12 inches, the sled provides a great ride down the hill and can also be used to transport young kids and or supplies with ease through the snow. The Davoser weighs an easy to drag 10 pounds. The sled is recommended for riders six years old and up and carries up to 150 pounds.
