Description of Etched Hand Forged Katana Sword White Leather Handle
Adorning the same (ray skin) layered handle is wrapped white leather ito (braid), the leather ito contrasts well with the antiqued kashira (butt cap) and fuchi (collar), and are offset by the gold plated dragon menuki (handle ornament). The tsuka (handle) is separated by a brushed brass seppa (spacer) that leads to a zinc-alloy tsuba (guard) appearing similar to a tsunami; a brushed copper habaki (blade collar) fits snuggly against the polished blade surface. A hand sharpened edge lines the high polished carbon steel blade; hand forged and etched with Japanese characters on both blade sides. Housing the blade is a high gloss black wooden saya (scabbard) which has been coated in a lustrous lacquer and decorated with a white sageo (cord). Included with the katana is a black cotton sword bag and two alternate tsubas (guards). Measures 44 inches closed, 43 inches overall with a 30 inch blade length equipped with a 19/64 blade thickness. Weighs 2lbs 14oz closed and 2lbs 6oz open.Swords
