I was in search of an earth-friendly mat so I wouldn't have to borrow the thin ones at the gym. I ordered the thicker mat in aqua. Like another reviewer, my mat also arrived with a quarter-sized brown spot. It's on the bottom of the mat so it's not something that bothers me. This mat is substantially thicker than the average yoga mat, but personally, I think it could be a little firmer. It sinks in like memory foam and takes some to adjust to if you're used to a firmer mat. The stick is pretty good. I've only used it about 10 times and did not wash it. Overall, I would recommend this mat.
Description of Drishti Earth-Friendly Yoga Mat (PVC-Free!)
These earth-friendly mats are a welcome new addition to the Drishti line of yoga products! While most mats are made from non-biodegradable and potentially toxic PVC (polyvinyl chloride), the Drishti earth-friendly mat is made from PER (Polymer Environmental Resin), a compound that has a significantly lower impact on the environment and which is also known to be less toxic to humans. PER does not contain plasticizers (also known as phthalates), a key ingredient in PVC which contributes to pollution and is harmful to human health. These mats are available in a fun palette of pastel colors: pink, lavender, pistachio, and aqua.
