This is not an inexpensive light, but if you want to be seen at night, this is the light. Don't throw away your blinky or your headlight or reflectors-this doesn't replace them. But you will feel like you are floating on a blue cloud, or green, or red or whatever color you pick when you ride with one. You will be seen from the side, and you will feel more confident riding. These tubes are light and sturdy too. If someone can't see your riding with these at night, then someone shouldn't be driving.

I see the review about the the lady who got pulled over by the police for having a blue one. Check the laws in your state when choosing a color. green is street legal in just about any state i believe. Just the same, i ride with my blue one often in LA county and have never had a problem. I have had police approach me on in it, and ask questions-more out of curiosity than anything. They've never seen it and want to know what powers it etc. I've had several tell me they think it's awesome and where do i get one for my kid? etc. So I think it really depends what state you are in.
